That was an internal decision to show Guang's character, and honestly, Xiaoshi's forgiveness just came too soon. This was better done and explained in the live action, which does a lot of things differently, but Lu Guang did what was necessary in order for Cheng XiaoShi to develop as a character. If he didn't, Cheng XiaoShi's actions would've resulted in the deaths of others that survived. The actions that Cheng Xiao Shi takes are extremely important. Anything that triggers a flag will alter the course of history. In the live action, Cheng Xiao Shi was given a chance to grieve along with the surviving families of the quake in the present day at a special event honoring those who passed during the quake. In case you didn't know, this quake was a real earthquake, which happened in China in 2006 in YanJin. It's a very special episode for families that lost their relatives during this quake. Correction: The earthquake could've been the 2008 Sichuan earthquake which was bigger in scale but I don't remember as it's been a while since I watched both the live action and Donghua. |
