What Will Be 2025 Most Popular Among Popular Shows?

So i noticed 2025 has got quite a line-up of popular shows coming up. So i just wish to know your thoughts on which you think will be the year's most popular(note that "most popular" in this case is referring to the show that most people will add to their list on MAL).

The ones I think are very likely to claim this spot are as follows in no particular order;

1. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc(considering the popularity of Demon Slayer and how this is the climatic arc, which a lot of fans are very excited about.)

2. One Punch Man S3(considering One Punch Man's popularity how long its been since the last season. Also, considering the excitement and hype of this new season, a lot of new fans are coming along.)

3. Chainsawman Reze Arc(considering also the popularity of the series along with how this sequel took long to get a release date than a lot were expecting and how this is a very hyped arc)

4. Sakamoto Days(I wouldn't have added this one to the list, but i was astonished at how Dandadan, a new hyped shonen anime was able to claim the third most popular spot on MAL despite being released three months or so before the year ended. Now I dont know if the Sakamoto Days has the same hype and initial fanbase as Dandadan but I think it's a safe bet.)

5. Solo Leveling S2(I think this is also a good competitor. It claimed 2024 top spot despite being a new anime, and all signs show the second season is going to be better than the first season.)

6. Dandadan S2(because of course prior signs have shown how good a competitor it is.)

7. Frieren S2(if it's releasing this year)

A runner up I have for this list is Apothecary Diaries S2.

Share your thoughts on which you think will be claiming the top spot, or mention any not included in this list along with your reason.

(Note: The above list only contains the shows I personally know that are popular enough for the top spot, so I might have missed others.)

I hope it is One Punch Man, it is personally the first anime I've ever watched so it would be great to see peak come back at the top!

In the last 10 years, the most popular anime is always action and almost always shounen (One Punch Man and Solo Leveling are the exceptions). If sequels are excluded, there's only one that is neither shounen nor action (Violet Evergarden in 2018) and one non-action shounen (Horimiya in 2021).

So I think One Punch Man s3 will be the most popular anime of 2025 (despite the downgrade, s2 still manages to be the #56 most popular of all time) and Sakamoto Days the most popular non-sequel (not much competition in terms of brand new shounen). Witch Hat Atelier might become the highest rated anime of 2025 if it gets a very good adaptation, but not the most popular (it depends on how much action and drama it actually has, I haven't read it so I can only notice that it doesn't have these tags on MAL).

Personally for me it would be Bleach TYBW c4 if it's coming this year, outside that I think Solo Leveling will be the top 1, as Red Gate, Demon Castle and Kargalgan are happening in S2, maybe even the beggining of Jeju Island stuff, it's gonna blow up. I wish anime will add a little bit more of Esil.

Cant say anything about MAL. Something might blow up unexpectedly while some anime dont grow as much once they air. Demon slayer and OPM S3 are pretty much confirmed a high rank in popularity. Demon slayer is actually surprising cause this will be the equivalent of 5th or 6th season. Number of members usually drop a lot after 3 or 4 seasons compared to S1.
OPM S3 is a long awaited sequel and if done right, It might have the most members for 2025.
Solo leveling S2 has a good fanabase.
Chainsaw man movie looks pretty good from the trailer. A lot of fans might jump back to the anime.

If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.
