idk if Chinese people even watches anime I highly doubt that cause all they ever do is spending time making and watching reels

In fact, the most popular video streaming/sharing website from China, Bilibili, was named after Misaka Mikoto from the Toaru series, and celebrates Mikoto Misaka's birthday on its homepage every year on 2 May! also apparently: Bilibili also offers games, mostly ACG-themed mobile games, such as the Chinese version of Fate/Grand Order. | Probably not. Wanna historical reference or what? This anime takes the Chinese imperial entourage, everyday objects and so on. Even some of the customs. But prostitutes in China were 'state' prostitutes. They were distinguished by their clothes and headdresses. In this anime, it's not quite clear what era it is. Probably the Ming Dynasty, but that's not a fact. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at the material culture of early China. I can't tell you what's appropriate and what's not. I'm more familiar with European material culture. I've seen things, I've heard things. There's a moment in this anime that surprised me. The strategist is sent to study abroad. Where to? If this is not the Qing Dynasty (the last dynasty), and judging by the clothes, it is not, where could a Chinese official be sent? The Chinese themselves have long considered China to be the best place in the world. The most cultured, the most developed. All around them, they thought, were barbarians. The Chinese had every reason to believe this. China was indeed a very special place. The Europeans caught up with them at the end of the 18th century. So. After Zheng He's expeditions, China's borders more or less closed. China closed in on itself. The heyday of Sinocentrism was the Qing dynasty. All the surrounding states were to some extent vassals or subjects. There is a Chinese base, especially the material culture, but there is a very strong Japanese influence. A kind of Japanized China, not China. In anime, Europe is often represented in a similar way.
