nowadays everytime i see mha videos/edits on tktok, the average likes they get is 7k likes and 20k likes maximum. the average views is under 100k views and 200k views max. even when s7 trailer comes out, not a lot of people posting it. i saw like 5 and only 2 of them got like 100k views. while most jjk post that pop up on my fyp got over 50k likes with hundreds thousands of views.

Well the reason MHA is seeing less views is because JJK is currently airing, at no point during season 6s release for MHA was JJK seeing an influx in edits and stuff for 0 or anything.

However I do agree in general its probably declining due to the comparisons being made with JJK, especially in the manga. I believe MHA has a better manga and JJK a better anime, however a lot of people lump MHAs manga with the animes quality without reading it, which is why there's probably less buzz around it.

I think when season 7, or the 4th movie I think I've heard is coming out (not sure if that's true), come out MHA will spike back up in popularity, especially with the manga coming to an end.

the only bad thing about mha fandom is the gay ship while jjk fans is the most toxic fandom ive seen, gay shipping, gojo slave, doing ritual for gojo. i dont think the fandom reputation affect the popularity that much.

I think it is still popular. But people who are open about liking it are seen as having poor taste in anime.

Maybe it has. Its not as hyped as I remember it used to be a few years ago which has to do with the quality of the anime declining, annoying fans and the growth of other new popular shonen.
Anyways, why the hell are you using tik tok, especially to find out the popularity of an anime.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

5th season was horrible compared in terms of story and animation, to all other seasons and a lot of fans, including me, lost interest after what happened in 5th season. Uptill season 5 it was a fire show. Even though people say season 6 is better, I couldnt find myself completing it yet.

season 5 was released in 2021. mha vids still got hundreds to millions of views in 2022. they were still really popular in 2022. i dont think the quality of s5 affect its popularity

Not telling this is the only reason, but it is definitely an impactful reason for decline in fanbase. Look at the stats in MAL itself (Again, Not telling MAL stats are definitive proof for an anime's popularity, but it can be taken into consideration as one of the factor). Among all the 6 seasons, Season 5 had the highest drop percentage of aroumd 2.8%. The member count dropped by around 50% for season 6 from 1.2M to around 600k. So, I think season 5 played a huge impact on the drop in popularity. Then there are other reasons too, like how others above me stated.

I mean, it's on its 7th season. It's pretty normal ig. I think people mostly look out for new shows and are more interested in them because they don't know what's gonna happen, what to expect from it. While MHA is on its S7, people have already seen it and can expect what's about to come. It's just not as exciting as the new shows. Also, many people put it in their PTW list as they know they'll eventually watch it. Many people also drop the show.

IMO, MHA is still going strong for it to get seven seasons. There are some shows which don't do as well as this one.

I feel like the highs in seasons 1-3 haven't been topped since then. The early seasons were special because they played into the fact that Deku was very inexperienced with his quirk and had to be creative. Now he's super busted and feels a lot less interesting. If the lead character can't interest viewers then your show has an issue

The fandom's reputation doesn't affect the anime as much anymore. It's the blind hate that many people buy without thinking for themselves. If you've been around the MHA community (posts, artworks etc) then you must've noticed many people just commenting for the sake of it, calling out MHA for no reason, hating on it and it's fans, and nitpicking on the most absurd and unreasonable things ever. Some people in the community have made MHA a scapegoat; anything bad happens - oh that's MHA, any cringe post appears - oh that must be MHA fans. Comment after comment of absolute gibberish nonsense. And some of them go the extra mile, where they just write out baseless criticisms regarding the anime and the manga, sometimes even masking it under eloquent words, heck even using references to Greek mythology, for crying out loud 🙏🏻. Just to make a ridiculous and utterly unfounded criticism sound like it's legit. If anyone has read MHA even objectively, they'll know how to judge it or like it for themselves, without being brainwashed by this unwarranted hate that keeps spreading.

true, but ngl i’m of the opinion that being put off a show because of a weird fan base is kinda odd. You can enjoy a show without getting involved with the fan base it’s not that hard

yeah i saw it. i just got into mha community recently. and i saw people always bullying mha fans like replying "remember" under the most normal comments or saying mha is cringe. this bullying trend influenced mha fans to feel embarassed for liking the show.
i think every popular anime has extreme fans, we're just seeing it now because of tktok (after tiktok people starting to record everything). this year jjk popularity has skyrocketed, we can see how bad and cringe jjk fandom has become

maybe the fandom is starting to become bad and cringe as you mentioned. But one of the strengths of the jjk fandom, atleast to this day is that they're united in most fronts. They post disgusting crap about their own anime that'll make your stomach coil up together, they'll make up theories about their anime, that too together etc. Now this could be happenstance that most jjk fans who think alike somehow end up in the same comment section. I've seen a few of them argue with each other at times, but that's kinda rare tbh. Good for them though, ig. Jjk and OPM continue to be the only animes in recent years that were taken by their fans, or atleast majority of the people who watched them, to be just what they were. Nothing more, nothing less. And perhaps this is one of the biggest reasons why both of them got good ratings; cuz the number of people who were more keen on nitpicking just because certain aspects that they wanted to see in the series didn't materialise, they would start hating on it for no valid reason - such people are less in their fandom to this day.

I think so yeah. People just start to lose interest or it gets overshadowed by other shows. Even my hype for it died as it went on. I dropped the manga and whilst the anime is still good, it doesn't feel as special as those first 2 seasons anymore.

It's not that MHA is getting less attention, It's that there are many other anime nowadays which are stealing the spotlight.
I still remember back when MHA premiered, It was received very well and totally blew up back then. Kudos to Bones for animating multiple seasons of this and they'll no doubt finish it next year or the next since the manga is in its final phase I hear. I plan to read the manga soon or maybe next year.

Just means that viewers are morons.

And I just noticed that you're talking about TikTok, then the veiw count depends on the video itself not the show you take it from.

It’s not as popular as was in its prime mainly due to the fact that it’s going on several years now and it’s more than hundred episodes long. It’s still a pretty popular franchise it just a good chunk of the community fell off/ newcomers see the toxic fanbase and episode count and turned off. As well as other action shonen coming out after MHA and blowing up in popular like demon slayer, JJK, chainsaw man etc
