I just finished watching this, and I was wondering, does Hiro and Sae still show up? I'm not talking about them still living at the apartment or dropping by and checking on the girls. Do they still play a part in Hidamari Sketch, or are they just gone?

Yes, there are chapters covering their lives together as college students, as well as a few chapters where they go to visit Hidamari. Their story is more separate and doesn’t have a huge role in the main shenanigans at Hidamari, which introduces new faces in their place as a new school year starts, but they definitely still show up, just mostly without the other girls.
