I doubt if anyone here hasn't, but watch Haikyuu. Realistic, character development, engaging, thrilling, but of comedy as well

well blue lock is kinda unique to its own kind.... there is none like it but if you want.. then.. maybe watch haikyuu.. its one of the best sports anime

There are 5 blocks of 5 teams. Which means 5 Team V, 5 Team W, 5 Team X, 5 Team Y & 5 Team Z. So 11 Players + 1 eliminated on the first test (The last one to touch hthe ball)= 12×5(Number of blocks)x5(Number of Teams per Block)= 300.

Ego didn't lie about the number of players, he just lied about their rankings. Though the rankings for each specific building probably were accurate, since Nagi was undoubtedly the best player in Isagi's building. But anyway, he told every team in each building that they were the worst five teams in Blue Lock so they can work harder to become better because people will work harder if they think that they're the worst as opposed to thinking that they're the best.

if you want something realistic you can watch:Haikyuu, Ao Ashi.
If you want something fantasy you can watch Inazuma Eleven and Kuroko no Basket( idk if this is really with powers etc bcz i didnt watched this show but u can search to see If is or not)

futsal boys & ao ashi & haikyuu & kuroko no basket they are not like blue lock but fun to watching also ( sk8 infinity ) about skateboard I mean it's also good you can try (⁠✯⁠ᴗ⁠✯⁠)

I guess that depends on what you mean when you ask “something like blue lock?”

Something with a lot of hype moments that hit hard- haikyuu

Something that doesn’t take the sport too literally and focused on the abilities and skills- kuroko no basket

Something with a distinct cast of characters- Diamond no ace

Something with the same sport- Ao ashi

Something that takes such liberties with the sport that it no longer translates to the real world- One outs

ao ashi is another good football anime and it places a lot of emphasis on the mcs eyes when he unlocks a new understanding of the field.

Blue Lock is very unique. I don't think there are any sports anime like it. Honestly though Kuroko no Basket is top tier. Personally my favorite sports anime by far. I put KnB in my number 1 sports anime spot, and Blue Lock in my number 2 spot

-Hajime No Ippo
-Haikyuu
-Diamond No Ace
-Run With The Wind
-Slam Dunk (best basketball anime there is)
-Ping Pong The Animation
-Major (best character development imo)
-Yuri On Ice
-3 Gatsu No Lion (not sure if it should be considered a sports anime)
-Baby Steps Or Prince of Tennis
in no specific order.
All animes I named are fun to watch in the sports category, you could start there.
Ballroom Youkouso is also a solid watch right outside my top 10.

ao ashi - it's a lighter version of blue lock, now that you know football.

Prince of Tennis has some superpower kind of sports anime too

try also Eyeshield 21 i remember it has some eye glows or even body auras when they do their special moves plus read its manga its awesome

Well, if you are asking about realistic moves being presented with a supernatural flair then Kuroko is closest. People mention Hikyuu, but I'm assuming the point of the question was to get something that has more of a visual flair where the realistic moves are shown like super powers. An old show that comes to mind is Eyeshield 21, it's about American football.
