| The art and atmosphere of older anime shows is why I love them so much. The darker colours and use of shadows is what does it for me, it feels much more natural. Modern anime art is so plastic looking, and because it's so much cheaper to produce, you get a lot more mediocre looking shows with so much of it lacking anything that makes it stand out from any other show. A lot of modern character designs are so boring to look at, they are just so plain. I feel like a huge majority of anime characters of the past 10 or 15 years could fit into any show and they wouldn't look out of place, that is how samey so many of them look. |
