I finished watching this movie just now and it was ok, good visuals and fight choreography as always, MAPPA doesn't disappoint there, however, the story is simply lacking and has plenty of powerups that come out of nowhere which I simply don't like.

So the main character who is a noob, only trained for a couple of month, etc... he was able to defeat the antagonist with the power of... LOVE? ... no man, shit like this is dumb. And the antagonist is the usual cliché villain who is bad just for the sake of being the bad guy, shit like this is dumb too, I want to see interesting villains, not cliche villains but I guess this is a problem with shounen animes in general, most of them simply suck creating interesting villains. And the story is simply not good, period.

But again, I will praise the production quality and the animation in the fight scenes which is the only saving grace about this anime as far as I'm aware and because of this alone, I will give this movie a 8/10.

The animation was more amazing than what I expected !! A big thank you to all the beautiful people who worked on this movie.
The fight scenes were breathtaking and the music added helped so much to conduct the feelings of each scene. I adore how the backstory of some characters were handled and the movie sets the tone well for the next season of JJK. I truly suggest watching JJK 0, even if it's a prequel, it has valuable information and a beautiful story worth watching.

JJK 0 made me appreciate even more some characters that were already iconic. Maki got to shine and get everyone's attention with that split. Yuta was beautifully portrayed in all his emotional states and memorable fight scene. Gojo was as epic as ever. Can't forget Mei Mei's graceful and unstoppable fightsyle. We got to understand even more of Toge's curse powers. Everyone's bond towards each other was easy to grasp and I'm very excited to see more in the following season of JJK!

Congrats again to each artists!!

Been a while since I've read the zero manga, but I still remember how sluggish the artstyle was, to the point where characters like Maki and Inumaki felt like totally different people if we take the main series as the comparison medium. Mappa did an appreciable job to have the character designs almost similar to what we had in the series.

Yuta's introduction, the whole mess with Geto and those eye candy visuals.. Mappa nailed them all. They did a similar job in the series itself with the visuals, but the movie's budget did help, raised the bar for that upcoming sequel too.

One thing more, the VA choice for Yuta is too damn perfect cuz to portray that whole wimpy personality is unmatched for anyone but the person who voiced Shinji too lol. 8/10

Where was Yuta on the season 1 of jujutsu kaisen then? He's supposed to be a 2nd year student.

Anyway, 8/10

It was a decent movie with good amount of action and a new character. Also after watching this even I feel Yuta is a better protagonist than Itadori. Yuta's personality and character development is what made him so interesting in this one movie whereas Itadori was bland and boring in comparison for the most part of the 24 episode show. In any case if the side character turns out to be more appealing as a protagonist than the main character than the writer definitely needs to work on his writing IMO.

I have no words to describe this movie! It's insane what MAPPA did here! What a story, what an animation, what a work of art!! Just wanted to know what happened to Yuuta and Suguru. I don't remember Yuuta being mantioned in the anime series, but Getou is there and I think he should be dead by that time... Anyway, I'll be giving a 9/10 just because I think it needed to have something else to make me feel more the way Yuuta felt the whole story.

As someone who has never read the manga but has already watched JJK season 1, I must say this...

Yuuta is a better main character than Itadori. HANDS DOWN. Now ofc I know next to nothing that lies for Itadori beyond the 1st season, but just from this movie and the first season alone, Yuuta is more fleshed out for the MC role. He got his sad backstory, but more than that, his goal in life is so much more tangible and transparent. As Goto himself put it, it's the self-affirmation for Yuuta's life and ultimately... To redeem himself in the face of Rika, the one he unwillingly cursed 6 years ago. I mean come on, as honourable or as selfless Itadori's main goal or way of life is... It's vague as hell and is not something he can achieve unless he dies for it. End of story.

This movie is certainly awesome, no question about the visual quality and the art direction and especially the animation, I, unfortunately, didn't get to watch it in the cinema, so while I enjoyed the sound effects and the upbeat music scattered throughout the movie, I can only imagine how brain shaking it is with the surround sound at the cinema. As I said previously I loved Yuuta more than Itadori, so characters-wise I love it. You can just about see how much the characters' relationship evolves from the start of the movie when Yuuta entered Jujutsu High all the way to the end after a seamless but noticeable 3 months time skip. Man oh man... Speaking of which... DAAAMN MAKI IS A CUTIE! More so than in season 1, Maki's bangs being swept to 1 side along with that classic circular glasses, fucking hell, this is the best version of Maki (appearance-wise). She still got that look in the anime, even if she no longer bothered about combing her bangs to the side anymore, but why did she choose that goofy aaahhh inverted half-rim glasses I have no fucking clue. Otherwise, she's top-tier.

I'm sure Yuuta will return in the anime whenever that part gets adapted, don't know when but I know he will. The post credit scene seems to indicate that he's in Africa for some reason. All I know is damn, that hairstyle is perfect for him. Retun home, Yuuta-senpai!

The Animation in this movie was absoultely spot on, just like the anime. And the big plot Twist at the end when we found out gojo and yuta are distantly related was a big shock to say the least. i can't wait to see more from JJK and hopefully the character of Yuta

the fights, animation, music, etc fit in nicely and were similar to the series in terms of the category mentioned above. But personally, I felt a little rushed with the overall story at various points in time. the introduction to the character was good but the execution was lacking something. It would have been much better to make it into anime series rather than a movie. because the connection wasn't that well with the mc and the events that were taking place.

the first half hour or so wasn't that good imo. but it really picked up once we had the cursed-speech "EXPLODE" scene. from then on it was pretty good, pretty exciting at times. i just hate mushy backstories/sob stories and i hate being introduced to characters who are portrayed as naive and goody-two-shoes.

i really don't know if i enjoyed this more than the tv series or if it was about the same. i need to rewatch the scene in the tv series where the 2nd year students are introduced and see what is mentioned about yuta. anyways, since i gave the tv series 7/10, i guess i'll give this 7/10 also (maybe 7.5)

I liked the part with the rad guitar-riff punch.

The rest felt like checking off a list of tropes from the "How to Make a Shounen Movie" except most of the fighting happened off-screen or in dust clouds.

With Rika gone I thought Yuta would be just a normal human? But that's clearly not the case considering what we heard about him in S1. And with her farewells I rather doubt she just sticked around. Is that explained later on?

Yuuta really impressed me towards the end. I didn't expect him actually to be able to fight against Geito as he did. I loved that entire fight scene.

Saying goodbye to Rikka was a surprisingly nice scene. i hope we see more of Yuuta in the future.
