Ok, I'm going to say something controversial and maybe unpopular....this show is not good or bad, its just average. This makes me angry since it had all the elements to be "the greatest single anime EVER made" as they told me....its just wasted potential. Despite 64 episodes (62 if we only include canon episodes), the anime is extremely rushed for the most part. That plotline with Winry's earrings goes nowhere, Sloth is just boring, Scheska literally disappears from the story line at some point, excessive plot coincidences, almost everyone saved the Elric Brothers at the last moment (last "arc"), poor tones, the Philosopher's Stone zombies, comedy in bad places, the ending having far less character deaths -it doesn't look realistic-, we never get to see Mustang become Fuhrer, useless antagonists except for King Bradly, Jean and Mustang injuries are healed at the end of the anime making their entire situation pointless, plot armor for important characters except a few with obvious death flags, the military who conspires with Father are just evil for the sake of being evil, Ed 'forgives' a serial killer like Pride, Marcoh is still alive, Father has generic motivations and the people from Xerxes were just dumb to trust him, the military after the coup d'état just hide and change information to Amestris citizens just like Father (I wonder why people don't suspect them since its a world where alchemy is normal so its make very little sense not to tell them the truth) and the whole anti-revenge theme of this anime is poorly done and almost contradictory when they tried to stop Roy from killing Envy and its randomly compared with Scar's situation. The only parts of the show that look pretty are the action scenes and some side characters like Izumi, Sig, Alex and Olivier are much better than our protagonists. Its a shame the anime cares too little about them. Ah, and some jokes were funny. I expected the series to blow away my expectations. 5-7-7-4-5. 5/10 for the anime.

Holy shit... what an anime, man. WOW. 10/10. This is my (second) favorite anime of all time now. But let’s discuss this episode! - So they cured Roy’s blindness and Jean Havoc’s paralysis, huh? That’s a huge relief. - I’d also like to think that Roy and Riza ended up together ๐ - Al’s body is finally back, he’s so cute :) - EDWARD AND WINRY ENDED UP TOGETHER LET’S GOOOOOO THAT CONFESSION WAS SO CUTE! - R.I.P. Greed, he was awesome :( - AW ED AND WINRY HAD KIDS AND THEY’RE SO CUTE Overall, I feel like this was one of the best endings to an anime, EVER. The only thing I didn’t really like was the implication that Al and May ended up together? Like, first off, I fucking hate May, and second, isn’t Alphonse like, hella older than her?

To be fair, they weren't evil just for the sake of being evil, the one mf at the end said that they though they were creating a new and a better world through the ritual, and history has shown that a huge collective of people can be brainwashed in such a way... I definitely agree with the Mustang and Envy situation, I was pretty pissed off by it, but brushed it off as Mustang trying to stay sane by not killing anything living anymore. |

FMAB is the best adventure anime that has ever been created. And I can see why it is number 1 on MAL and many other sites. Positives: - This anime has INCREDIBLE pacing, and you NEVER feel bored. Incredible for an anime thats over 30 episodes. This is where FMAB was better than FMA03. In FMA03, the pacing sometimes was really dull with many stand-alone-ish episodes that ruined the immersion of the anime. -Everything is important. There is truly no filler. There is no dullness. This anime truly creates great immersion because of it. -Characters are not boring or meh. They all add something. Negatives: - Episodes 2 to 13 were a drag to watch and boring, mainly because studio Bones assumes that you watched the first 30 episodes of the first FMA. - Since the pacing is amazing, you never feel like you truly loves the characters on a deep level. Asides from Hoenhein and sometimes Marcoh, I truly never got attached to the characters, even when a character died or did something amazing or a romance scene or a heartbreaking scene. This is where FMA2003 was better. -Since the pacing is amazing, you really cant digest all the scenes and let them flow in you. This is where FMA2003 was better, in that all the important scenes impacted you. -Romance: I can careless about Ed x Winry in Brotherhood, since it just made me BARF and roll my eyes. Now, I wanted Ed x Winry in 2003 to get together. I also wanted Ed x Rose to get together in 2003. If I had to describe a difference is that FMAB is for your brain to enjoy, while FMA03 is for your heart to enjoy.

just finished watching FMAB and I'm gonna say that everything was really good. I give it a 10/10 cuz of the decent animation consistency from start till the end, excellent story and character developments that not only your primary MCs just get proper screening time but literally everyone had its own share (we rarely got to see this kind in a certain anime) and to top it all, a very good and satisfying ending. In short, a PERFECT adaptation. It's only rare that we get this great kind of shonen animes. So I'm gonna say it now that it deserves the rate it got :) Now I'm wondering what gintama movie, the final has to offer cuz it's currently on #1 :>

His points are pretty valid, not everyone will like this anime, I personally didn't liked it either and the biggest offender that made me dislike this anime even further was that crappy comedy, it was simply childish, bad and forced. I can also write a wall of text on why I disliked this crappy anime but I bet 99% of you guys won't read it anyways so I usually don't bother to write it. |

I love fmab the most in the world. It was this anime that helped me when I was having a hard time. So I was proud to continue to be number one on this site. But I'm very shocked to shoot twitter (I don't know if it's true) that it may be a work by some fans. If there are famb fans doing that, it's a shock to each other. I don't want to see fmab insulted by that fan. It doesn't have to be the first place, and if it's the best among you, that's fine.

I'm glad that I took the time to rewatch this series. It's spectacular. Before rewatching I ranked this series to be on the same level as Fairy Tail, but after rewatching I still feel that way. Either could be place above the other and I wouldn't really care either way. The journey in that Ed and Al went through to get their bodies back was nothing short of inspiring. They weren't willing to sacrifice anyone to do so and they took on the price themselves. Everyone helped them along the way and they made a plethora of new friends ready to take on the opposition known as Father. Father's demise was heartbreaking. He really wanted to know more about the world but the way he went about it was too cruel. He was willing to sacrifice all of Amestris just so he could attain the powers of God. He abandoned his human origins to go on this quest and split up his seven desires, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, Pride, Greed, and Sloth. I don't want to go on too much of a tangent so I'll try to summarize my thoughts into one or two sentences. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is an amazing tale in which the Elric brothers learn that at the end of the day they can't attain anything without being willing to sacrifice other stuff. They learn about the wrongs of the world and choose to fight against it. What a true masterpiece. One Piece is still the greatest fictional work in existence.

awwww Ed's and winery's kidsss so cuteee ill cryyy such a cute couple. The ending was really satisfying and covered all aspects. Eds speech at the end just brought the whole series together; a lesson we've learned through watching the show. almost as if we had gained something. FMAB really lived up to its expectations. loved all the arcs and characters- though I was confused the first 2 ep. nevertheless, I loved it.

This was a nice finale episode. Kind of reminded me of Monster where it goes over what everyone was doing with their life after everything. Winry and Ed are cute together. I figured Mustang wouldn't stay blind. This anime is a masterpiece. What I take from it is that humans have no place trying to be God. "Men who just sit around doing nothing are boring" OOF I felt that.

and there it is the final episode of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. to be honest i really needed this calm, relaxing and peaceful episode to end this show, seeing Alphonse back in his body was exactly what we've all wanted to see happen from the very start. it was quite the journey, and i am so glad that i decided to finally watch this great anime. and like every other timeless classic iconic anime, this one taught me so much about not giving up and about facing the unknown no matter how bad your life gets, never lose hope!

Oh this is overwhelming, I feel attached to the characters and their journey.. :) loved it. Loved the anime, it was consistently so good since the beginning, very enjoyable, very well-animated as it got to the end especially, has an incredible pacing, well-written overall, balanced in how it treats it's characters. I always looked forward for the next episode. There are still some tiny complaints on my end, like, for example - the way characters just talk and things worked out harmoniously, the very timely appearance of characters to conveniently save other characters in a fight scene - but even that is done in a way that it doesn't look too bad.. all the characters really give their all. It is so good overall, and you just want to enjoy it, that my complaints really fade out.. I can see why it's #1 on MAL. It has a universal appeal. I want to watch another show just like this one :)

Even though she had a ton of screentime in FMA 2003, I guess the author forgot about her in the canon story lmao. Another Launch from DBZ situation. Replying to your post because I third what Nurguburu is saying. FMAB is no doubt the most overrated anime on this site and I'm glad everyone else realises this too in spite of its botted #1 rank. The show was consistent in the sense that although it doesn't have the miserable lows of other shounen, it also gets utterly eclipsed by their highs. Bland throughout and tastes like air, hence why it fizzled out of relevancy unlike a certain other battle shounen that also had a reboot released only a year after its end that starts with the letter 'H'. I agree with every point that was made except for calling the jokes funny. This anime easily has the worst, most slapstick humour out of any shounen and it's especially appalling because of the tonal whiplash and shattering of immersion it's responsible for. At least other shounen that have a childish sense of humour understand the concept of a time and place for everything. This one doesn't and will not hesitate to shoehorn them in in important or serious moments and even jeopardise character writing to throw in a shitty joke (E.g. when Father meets Edward for the first time and it's also our first time seeing him active in a scene, where he comedically expresses a fascination towards Edward's automail. Bravo, what an amazing establishing of character dynamics and first impression of the main uninteresting villain you try to hype up in a previous scene with Greed!) The anime's biggest weakness is no doubt its tonal inconsistency, and the show can't seem to decide whether it wants to be a mature shounen that tries to tell a thematically rich story or a children's cartoon that doesn't take itself seriously. What an utter, overhyped disappointment. Let's hope the original FMA is better than this. DaddyMDY said: Fax. This is already very easy to argue for and seems to be becoming widely accepted like how FMAB only being above average at best is today. No amount of limp-wristed ad hominems whilst linking reddit articles from kids who think FMAB is peak anime because it was their first among the 20 they've watched in their life is changing that. I completely agree with everything you said, also thank you for mentioning my girl Sheska. Man, you're really bad at this. Critical thinking just isn't your thing I guess. Also I don't know how you can lack this much self awareness because everything you made up here can be said about your show lol. Oh look at this: https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/y95zjn/top_100_most_acclaimed_anime_series_of_all_time/ Hmm, interesting. I don't see Bleach anywhere. |

What a journey! A compelling story with great-quality production, and fantastic characters, loved their design. I loved the horror elements. Some were disturbing, which I hated to look at. I love Edward. The way he pulled through some horrible shit and delivered on his promise was satisfying. Al getting his body back made me tear up, and so did Winry's reaction. I enjoyed Mustang and Hawkeye's friendship. They were so sweet every time their bond was the focus. They did overdo the jokes messing with the tension. And the pacing of some episodes felt rushed and affected some emotional moments. A minor complaint, though. Overall, it was lovely. I completely understand why so many love it. I'll miss the brothers and this universe.

satisfying conclusion, no loose ends. extremely happy ending. family picture with ed, al, winry and children of ed and al is the best photograph in the entire anime verse, that picture alone made me so so happy, to add to that both the father and son have the same laugh :D i've got a lot to say about this but i can't find words. i just feel extremely happy and satisfed. i rate this 10/10. i'll leave it at that.
