Steins;Gate, Code Geass, Lord of the Rings, etc. are masterpieces because they handled their stories exceptionally well. The pacing is much better than AOT S4P2 because there aren't 2-3 long episodes of exposition dumping. Even then, there's nothing wrong with a classic hero vs. villain storyline. So many of the best action stories are simply that: Avengers, Lord of the Rings, 90% of the Batman films, literally the majority of shonen animes. Just because something is complex doesn't mean that it's better. AOT does a great job at its complexity, but even then there are still issues when it comes to balancing out the story. |

Just because something is complex doesn't mean that it's better. AOT does a great job at its complexity, but even then there are still issues when it comes to balancing out the story.
