| I'm gonna read both ๐ฟ Didn't even watch Rezero but read the first 3 vols and it was pretty good,watched both the cours of Mushoku Tensei but then on reading the adapted portion of the LN I enjoyed it more,so I'm going for LN's no matter how good the adaptation is the source content is always better (at least in case of LN adaptations). PS: Seems like shounen fans can't get a good night's sleep whenever they see something good regarding isekai,at least that's what I got from the other replies nobody even praised any of the shows in question here but they sound butt hurt without any reason. |

That label can be misinterpreted as "the first isekai", when in reality R:Z was released earlier than MT (web novel). The label actually meant that MT popularized some/most of the isekai tropes. |

| I can't say anything for the fandoms since I don't consider myself to be a part of either, but I've always felt that Re:Zero would be a much more compelling experience in the novel format. Some stories just give you that feeling, even when they're on your screen. Not to say that the anime isn't up to mark, but the story itself feels like it isn't suited to the medium. |

| Personally I am not a fan of the whole reborn in isekai with memories of past life style, nor do I like series with polygamy, which is why I don't like Mushoku Tensei. I also really don't like the super strong protag trope. In Re Zero there are actual stakes and Subaru (even though I don't really like him) isn't particularly powerful. MT is like series like Isekai Smartphone and shit, just somewhat better written. |

Word is that they're going to make that studio dedicated to Rezero later, hopefully. Tho Mushoku Tensei also faces problems too. Mushoku Tensei character designer for season 1 left studio Bind to work for Mappa on Chainsaw Man. This is a problem Isekai anime and other genres faces in general as Shonen titles gets better treatment. 4. LN Sales - I thought for sure that Rezero has a huge gap of sales with Mushoku Tensei as MT finished a long time ago and Rezero is still ongoing. Tappei sensei released a new chapter even this week. But when I checked the LN sales Mushoku Tensei has 10M sales and Rezero has 11M sales which really surprised me. Then I saw Slime has 30M sales which surprised me even more. Got me thinking maybe MT and Rezero aren't really a big deal compared to slime lol. So these are some of the reasons why I think many rezero fans hate Mushoku Tensei. Both series are amazing and unique but there's clearly a difference in the anime adaptation. What do you think ? Have you considered the opposite that MT fans hate Re: Zero as well? They're two very popular isekai and that's literally the only big reason people fight. That said, the reason MT and Re: Zero don't do as good as Slime in sales is because of the existence of the WN, which people with tight budgets prefer over the LN. |
