Every character in this anime speaks in a unique dialect. Does anyone know what it is?

Also, where is the setting island located on the map? Is it a fictional place, or based on a real location?

it is an actual prefecture in Japan....... the island is real...... watch ed after the episode, u will see real footages of the actual island

nope, the island in anime is mentioned as Hitogashima Island (日都ヶ島). There's no real place with that exact name. But it seems to be based on Tomogashima Island (友ヶ島), Wakayama City, Prefecture Wakayama

The island in the series is modeled from Tomogashima in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture.

The island in the story is based off of Tomogashima in Wakayama prefecture. The dialect is called Wakayama-ben.
The basic rule for the name of the dialect is the name of the prefecture + ben (dialect), but there are some that doesn’t fit the rule.

As I mentioned on the comment above it take place in Wakayama Islands, the accent used is local accent.

Also the author and one of the cast, Shirasu Saho (Mio VA) are from Wakayama. In a video I found on YT, Anna Nagase (Ushio VA) told that they learned the accent from Saho-chan.

idk about the setting island
but wakayama ken is part of kansai region,so they speak japanese with viscous"kansai-ben" or "kansai dialect"

The islanders speak the same dialect I think, it sounded a lot like the Kansai accent.
