How long does it take before you lost interest to an anime series?

I used to love One Piece to death. But now I feel like my love and interest to it started to deteriorate. I think it's because as we watch more anime, we eventually see the flaws of the anime we are watching. I also think this one contribute to my lost of interest to a series: my close friend and uncle kept spoiling the series for me -- as they can't control their emotion whenever they saw something cool.

Well, the same happened with me.. It used to be my fav anime. But at the time I started I already know what will happen in later episodes, and I always saw it's flaws. I don't usually lose interest to an anime, but if I do, I put it on-hold for a long time, till I feel like watching it. I usually only do this with longer anime tho. All other on-hold is a different story xd

Interest is a subjective matter,so I won't comment on that...
But I would say slow story progression and unnecessary build up.... Are some things that can make me lost interest in an anime...
Have a nice day...
Haven't found a good anime dialogue to copy yet!!

Been watching One Piece for like 18 years now and still loving it.

But something like Nanatsu no Taizai lost my attention after ~3 seasons. Other shows barely manage to keep it for a single season. Others yet never get it in the first place. So it all depends on the show...
I probably regret this post by now.

One piece did not seem interesting from episode 1 to me. Unlike others who saw One Piece when they got into anime as newbies or those who saw it from their childhood and have nostalgia for it, it's not the case with me.

Fairly quick, considering I mostly prefer series that are only 12 episodes worth.

Same for me to be honest. My interest for One Piece is kinda dropping. Maybe it's because I'm caught up and now I gotta wait a week for new episodes and chapters. It feels super slow. Earlier, I used to binge as much as I wanted to but now it's just long wait.

When I start watching one piece I thought this is the one because I finish anime really first so I like long anime but now it doesn't interest me that much

It is not your fault. It's that Wan Piss is trash. I will suggest you not to watch garbage like Wan Piss, watch something good.

Literally everyone thinks it is trash and don't want to continue ,only sunk cost is saving it.

3 episode rule for 12ep seasonals, 5-6 for longer. If the show doesn't pick up after that, I usually end up dropping it.

It depends on the anime for me. Some series are very special to me and I'll continue watching and enjoying no matter what. For me personally an example of that would be Dragon Ball. It is my first ever anime, and although Super simply isn't good for the most part, DB is a series I just can't force myself to drop entirely. While if we're talking about some random boring anime I picked up recently, it usually only takes a few episodes for me to start losing interest.

I'm probably in a similar boat to you, at least where One Piece is concerned.
I started it maybe 7 years ago? Binged it for a couple years with a few hiatuses in there just because of how long it is but I loved it.

But One Piece is also the most popular anime so it's almost impossible to not get spoiled on something at some point. So a lot of the plot points, deaths, and twists were already known to me. I always told myself to push and catch up so I can be on par with everyone else but on one of the many hiatuses, I just never picked it back up. It's been years since I've seen an episode.

And now the manga elements are being spoiled heavily for me lol. I still have love for the series but it's been so long, I'm sure I've forgotten hella key details. At some point I might just pick up the manga idk.

To answer your initial question: depends on how gravitating the first couple episodes are. If it's a steady line rather than incline, maybe around 15-20 episodes I start fading out.

I've been watching kochikame since 2002.. always trying to find some episodes here and there using vpn to download in Japanese and Spanish... Even learnt Spanish for 3 years just for watching the episodes..

But i still haven't seen at the episodes and still look everywhere for new episodes... So i guess i never lose interest in anime i like .
I'm not a child who gets bored of everything in 3 days...

If I love something, I'll never fall out of love. One Piece will always be the GOAT to me no matter how many decades pass

I think it's because you never loved that series in the first place.
