title says it, I'm at the jaya arc at the moment and I could go either way with this, is it worth watching all 800 episodes in your opinion? should I just read the manga?

I recommend that you watch the anime and then switch to the manga (coloured version) once you begin the post-timeskip of one piece

Yes, Water 7 (a few arcs ahead) is far superior than Alabasta and Drum Kingdom. The further you go, the better the reveals become.

Pls don't write animeS or mangaS >.< // + <50 man(g/hw/hu)a not in MAL. // Join my >manga club< here!

The anime can become unbearable after the war arc. I recommend switching to the manga then. Subsequently, the saga following the Jaya arc is peak One Piece anime!

Post-timeskip pacing in the anime is terrible... reading the manga(coloured version) would be a good idea, as it has no pacing issues and it's faster way to catch up to the series...
But, in the end, it's all up to you... Enjoy the anime in the medium you prefer...
N if you talk about the story, it just keeps getting 10x better every next arc...

Yeah, the world would be dark without Light...
but without L, the world would just be a Word...

I started One Piece in June 2021, I’m currently at episode 820. I’d say there’s certain arcs that aren’t worth it like Thriller Bark or any fillers. But other than that, this show is so well written and animated, definitely worth watching.

In my opinion as someone who has just caught up after starting June last year it is worth catching up. I was anime only and yes there are some real pacing issues though all in all I found it one of the greatest experiences I've had watching an anime.

Also it's worth watching Wano because the animation quality is god tier.

Yep. You're still pretty early on and it definitely gets better later down the line imo

I agree, I started watching around June as well but I'm only at whole cake island. Everyone complains about the pacing and I get it but also it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be imo. I'm also sooo excited for the wano animation it's gonna be so satsifying I just know it

If you want to catch up quickly then I recommend manga coz Anime got terrible pacing. If you don't mind catching up slowly then you should give the anime a try.

Yes, quite worth it if you really don't care in catching up the faster way (manga).

If you like the anime so far, just continue it. Otherwise drop it.

Yes its absolutely worth it , you are about to experience something that you never had before. Since you are in jaya, the following arcs are gonna get better and better but the only problem is after ep 500 the pacing gets slow ,while many seems to hate this but if slow pacing is not a problem for you then ig it'll be fine.Except for the pacing everything improves. Get ready you are about to witness the greatest storytelling, world building and character developments in all of anime. Once you catch up to the anime you can continue the manga. Best of luck for your journey.

I'd suggest watching until the end of Enies Lobby and then switching to the manga since the arc that comes after that is where the anime's pacing becomes unendurable and it only gets worse from there.

Pre-timeskip 'One Piece' (especially Alabasta-onwards) is some of the greatest Anime I have ever experienced. However, once the timeskip happens, it becomes entirely insufferable for the most part. The pacing becomes downright horrendous in the Anime, which is why I suggest you watch the Anime up to the timeskip then switch over to the Manga once the timeskip does happen.

However, in saying this, I have never actually read a single page of the Manga (yet). But, I do believe it's logical to be under the notion that the Manga has better pacing (especially because other lovers of the franchise have commented on the pacing problems present in the Anime).

One thing is for certain though: Anime or Manga, for me, the timeskip (from where I have watched up to) is massively inferior in comparison to the pre-timeskip stuff-- with many elements just becoming dull. As an example, the pre-timeskip seems to be orientated around adventure, whereas the timeskip is heavily orientated for action.
As such, in the timeskip, the power-system changes quite drastically (for the worse in mine own opinion).

Either way, I'm sure many will tell you how superb the pre-timeskip One Piece stuff is. However, the timeskip stuff seems to be slightly more divisive. I suppose you'll just have to find out for yourself.

I don't think people take this into account as much, especially manga readers but there is quite a distinct difference between Binge watching and experiencing it weekly. The pacing it self is not as bothersome when your binge watching. Also many of the later post NW arcs is still quite amazing and has a substantual ammount of budget used for some very noteworthy scenes you won't want to miss. My recommendation is just stick with the anime all the way especially if your binging it, the in canon filler won't bother you that much.

In the early parts of the series, the filler arcs are also placed appropriately between major canon story's, and never hinders the pacing of the canon so they are fun to watch.

Also don't ever listen to the manga puriests that say skip thriller bark and skypia and other such canon story arcs just because they feel there slow. There is such immportant plot developments and world building in these arcs that connect to the lore and story of one piece, you can't skip canon stuff.

Pacing after war is very bad so I'd recommend the manga for that.

Hell no. I BEST advice you to read the manga after Water 7 because the pacing gets atrocious from there.
