What's something that was common in older anime, but absent in modern titles that you're glad is gone? And what's something you miss from older anime that's absent in new shows?
| I'll leave the definition of older anime up to interpretation, whatever is old to you. Just an example, the big hair was common in older stuff but seems fairly gone. I miss it. Mecha shows have seemed to dropped in popularity, but i don't miss them because i don't care for the genre. |

| Can't think of anything in particular for the first question. And about the second, I don't actively miss anything when watching something newer. In case I want say some of that aesthetic, film grain and overall mood I can just watch something old right now. Most of what 70s-90s titles have to offer is inherently irreplaceable which is part of their appeal. |

| Teens going to parties where they drink, smoke or do drugs seemed more common back in the day. Whereas modern series have to resort to juvenille whiskey chocolate or even drunk on coffee tropes. This even in anime that air late at night. There was a scene in Yesterday wo Utatte where Haru was sitting on stairs drinking a beer. The anime changed it to orange juice I think. What's hilarious is that they went the extra mile and gave us a close up shot of the can to make sure we don’t mistake it for a beer. Wtf? XD |

a lot of unnecessary episodes/arcs had no ending, it just finished and we were over I see where you both come from but both of those are still quite common to even fit as a reply to OP's question. |
