Edit: I have finished the star Wars movies as of October 9th, maybe I'll watch the TV shows later on

You don't need, it's actually against the canon. Maybe you'll need to watch the movies, but you don't need the third trilogy
Just watch 1-6 and know that everything that you're about to watch in this anime ISN'T canon.

You only need to know the basic stuff about Force, Jedi, Sith, The Empire, and the Republic. But, watching at least the movies first will be really helpful.

Don't make the mistake of watching the prequels first.
Correct order is : 4->5->6->1->2->3->7->8->9

No, don't worry about it! I am totally not a fan of Star Wars and I still watched this with my brothers, who are fans, because I was interested after they showed me the trailer! You are good without all the previous content. ^-^

Just watch the first 6 movies and Rogue one movie , that should be enough for casual fans and you can watch visions . If you love the stuff there are amazing animated shows called Clone wars and Rebels . Then watch mando because watching mando without clone wars and Rebels will confuse you.

I haven't seen much of the Star Wars franchise but at least know the difference between a Sith and a Jedi so that bit helped me understand the episodes lol

Is Resistance even relevant to anything at all? It's such a non-entity that I've never seen anyone discuss it.

Anyway, for OP, if Visions has inspired you to get into Star Wars then I agree on watching the movies in production order, though the sequel trilogy is meh. If you come to like the franchise and want more than the canon movies/TV shows/cartoons, then dive into the games. The only really worthwhile one that's currently canon is Jedi Fallen Order, but there's a lot of really fun SW games with enjoyable stories and/or gameplay from before the Disney acquisition (Knights of the Old Republic, Jedi Academy, and Republic Commando just to name a few)

I know which is unfortunate for how bad both are. Also majority if not all upcoming and current Star Wars projects are set after the Original Trilogy or prequel era. Sequels aren’t that important, at least to overall canon. They’re more as bonus content at this point.

I highly doubt it, Disney will probably just overwrite it if something more profitable and well known comes along. Canon in Disney's case doesn't mean much other than "this did well, and it fits with our new projects, it counts"
