| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- The look of regret on JL's face after stabbing WWX. It was interesting that it was LWJ who replayed JGY's tune since in the novel it was WWX who did. The donghua team doing these little twists is refreshing. We got to know more about LWJ and LXC's childhood. They only got to see their mom once a month. :( WWX finally found out the meaning of the forehead ribbon and his reaction is adorable. xD |
| I can't say I super appreciate the changes from the novel but in this episode it was nothing major that would bother me much...though Lan Wangji playing the song hmm...they already shot themselves in the leg when they have included LWJ in the empathy with Nie Mingjue because I think, that him trusting Wei Wuxian's words without seeing anything is way more impactful. But I can understand the feeling of wanting to have Wangxian together at all times. But for example the inclusion of "get lost" scene was very well timed. I didn't mind the way Wei Wuxian has found out ("found out" is probably not the right word..."rediscovered" is better, considering he knew it before but just didn't really bother with storing it in his brain) about the headband either. Even though I really liked him getting mental breakdown around the juniors in the novel. But anyway, it really looks like they won't try to tell us, that Wangxian are platonic bros hah. Also, can I give a shout out to Wei Wuxian being ripped ASF?? lmao. Really liked the Xichen and A-yao content as well. And Sizhui being cool. |
| While I was watching this episode all I could think of was.. how are they going to make wangxian platonic after that? Lan Wangji and his fated sworn brother? I totally expected them to censor the romance in this adaptation but I'm not so so sure anymore. |
| 1st: omg, baby Lan Zhan is adorable!! Lan Xichen is such a respectable guy. He believes in, and deeply cares about, Jin Guangyao,, but he still isn't blindly turning against Wei Wuxian. Wei Ying finally learnt what he did when he played with Lan Zhan's headband. lol. Lan Sizhui also believes in Wei Wuxian. He's such a sweet kid! (Wei Ying and Lan Zhan should just adopt him. lol.) |
THAT!! My thoughts exactly at that scene hahahah. C'mon, Mo Xuanyu's body was supposed to be "low cultivation" and have more slim, kinda boyish frame. But somehow WWX's abs was ripped like holy cow- I really enjoyed this episode, but I was really looking forward to Wei Wuxian playing that song from his memory only. As the genius he is... At least we got a little of him playing his flute after in the library, and also Xichen's flute mood a bit later. I absolutely loved the transition to the past thought! It fit so well! Kinda a shame though that it was translated to "go away" and not "get lost" as I feel like the second has more impact and is a lot more... impactful? Also, THAT FORBIDDEN LIBRARY. SO DETAILED. Even if it was in CGI, it looked SO GOOD. |
| This episode was so full of emotions. Despite being at one location, so much was revealed. I always imagined the forbidden library to be small dark and cluttered basement. The fact donghua team gave us a beautiful yet mysterious specious library shouldn't surprise me. It looks so pleasing on the eyes Am I surprised that they revealed the headband meaning? Yes. Am I surprised by 'sudden' reveal of MXY/WWX abs? Ohh yes I am. Donghua team got so daring in s3, ohh my. WWX realising how he blue balled LWJ is too funny. They chose a nice way to reveal the meaning and how WWX actually got that rule wrong. Donghua team added so much to LXC and MY's time in hiding! I expected it to be just mentioned but holy hells they even included the laundry bit and MY risking his life for him. I'm unsure about the skills MY is given on taking out so many Wens. He shouldn't have formal training at that point and he's known to have a shitty cultivation (yet he's taking out full blown cultivators). Still it's so cute. Can you blame LXC for trusting him so much? Jade scene broke me ofc. *hugs JGY* Is it bad that I was hoping that we would get how Qingheng-jun looks? Only manhua slightly showed him |
| The donghua team deserves a raise for the vivid and beautiful art...I didn't expect the forbidden library to look this cool and elegant. I'm falling in love with the sceneries, character designs, and action sequences over and over again. I was hoping to see lan zhan's expression during the 'get lost' scene, but they hid his face. This scene was much more painful in my imagination, but this is okay too i guess. Every time wei ying finds something related to him in lan Zhan's room, my heart aches. You dummy, how dense can you be! Ho ho ho mxy abs..that was a surprise..i loved it. Now give us mxy in yiling laozu clothes. I feel bad for xichen. Seems like the lans are destined to suffer because of the people they cared for the most..First the lan parents, then wangji..now its xichen's turn 4 episodes to go, i am in pain. |
