I first watched this series in October 2020 as well as the End of Eva movie and I didn't understand it at all or like it however when I watched it originally I watched it with a family member and if there was something I didn't understand (there was a lot) I didn't watch YouTube videos to explain it. I really want to get the hype around the series so do you think I should rewatch it on my own this time with YouTube videos to help explain the series, do you think I will like it the second time around? Also do you have any other tips?

It's definitely worth a rewatch and you'll pick up on so much more a second time around. It could drastically change your opinion about the show

I don’t even think you need to watch a ton of YouTube videos. Maybe gather information on what kind of mental state the creator of the show was going through,;although, these kind of shows really are a lot of fun when you can try to interpret symbols on your own. Of course, your not going to entirely understand after the second watch either but I’d still recommend it.

I will say now is the best time to re-watch the show, not only will u understand the show better,if u like it u can also watch the rebuild movies, they are a totally alternate story(with same characters and world setting) coz the 4th and the last movie released worldwide on Amazon prime on 13th August,so IMO this is the best time to watch the whole series and rebuild movies in one go

The best production I've ever seen. It was hard to understand at first, but when I thought about it, I saw that it was an incredible content, fiction and infrastructure, I will definitely watch it again and again.

Rewatching is a great idea. You might pick up on dialogue that you missed or pick up on subtle cues to the meaning behind the show. Some of it might be relative to your own experience since you watched it as well. I hope you enjoy it😊

If you found Eva mediocre or worse then I wouldn’t rewatch it, assuming the only reason you’re rewatching it is because of hearsay. I actually did truly came to love NGE after a rewatch, especially episodes 25 and 26, but I already quite liked it before hand. If you really want to give it another shot then go right ahead, I love Eva and I think it’d be great if more people come to love, but don’t go in expecting Eva to be suddenly amazing.

If there is an anime worth re-watching over and over again, evangelion is definitely that anime

Just go through the second watching without watching videos on it. Shows like this are up to your own interpretation to a degree

I rewatched it in preparation for the rebuild series coming to amazon. I would highly recommend a rewatch because for me it gave me a greater understanding of the show and increased my enjoyment. I understood what they were talking about almost always because of my prior knowledge.

I would recommend looking into philosophy PhD programs find a good university that fits your schedule then when you graduate I would recommend the rewatch.

I mean, I understood all of the show perfectly (I'm pretty sure), but I didn't see why everyone else liked it so much either. It's definitely not for everyone, so personally I don't think your opinion is likely to change much on a rewatch, but that might just be me
