| Look man its actually very good but if you don't like it don't insult it as "POOP". Most of the people liked it and its nostalgia for anyone who read the manga in childhood look i am not saying you are wierd or anything for not liking that anime,its cool you don't like it its fine but if it's in top 10 it is definitely a good anime. For me one of the best fights on gintama was gintoki vs takasugi and if you are watching a long anime like 300eps long you need patience |

| Yeah, it has a slow start with not so good starting episodes but trusts me it will get a lot better the more you watch it which will make you hook in no time. |

| Its highly rated because MAL doesn't count scores of people who dropped it early on, and the later seasons have higher scores due to survivorship bias. If you don't like the show just drop it, not worth watching some show that you find boring even if other people like it. Imo the humor is pretty bad and the first "serious arc" that fans always say to watch before dropping is average at best, dropped it soon after completing that arc. |
| It's funny, the story arcs are very good and the fights are awesome. I agree that some of the early comedy episodes don't always hit the mark though. |

| It doesn't get better. Just watch serious arcs and skip everything else like me. Only 10% of people able to complete it that's the reason why score is so high because everybody drops it. |

If you don't find the humor funny, then please please please don't watch Gintama just because it has a high rating and later berate the show because you didn't find it enjoyable. It mostly incorporates Japanese humor, so if you don't find it funny then I'll assume Japanese humor isn't for you. A lot of references were made with regards to the Japanese people in mind, that also may be why it's not funny to you and bear in mind again: "It's a comedy anime", Gintama doesn't have a slow start, we just fail to pick up on the comedical content after a handful of episodes later. Finish Gintama and rewatch it again, you'll see what I'm talking about. Second, the serious arc starts at the Benizakura Arc (Episode 60... I think). If that also doesn't convince you to continue Gintama, please, just drop it. Nothing else will convince you anymore. But if you do continue, by a slim chance, you'll definitely see why it's the best. Again, it's a comedy anime, so if you don't find it funny, then probably you didn't understand some of the references or maybe you just don't understand and appreciate Japanese humor like some of us do or maybe the subtitling of the show misled you or something. I'll base my assumption on those. |

| I thought I was the only one who thought like that. I've watched 55 episodes, and it's really boring. I didn't enjoy watching it. The reason I keep watching it is just because I want to watch it all the way to the serious arc. |
