The thing about all the jjk characters is that writer tried to make them as cool as possible (and he succeeded). I really liked Junpei as he was different from all others characters and felt said he just died after 2 eps.
Am i the only one who felt that way.
It is shocking to find how many people do not believe they can learn, and how many more believe learning to be difficult.

No, I liked Junpei a lot. I think he could've been a great jujutsu sorcerer had things been different.

Honestly I kinda forgot about him by now but thinking back at it I thought he would’ve been a really good support character as a fellow sorcerer which would’ve been cool but sadly no.

Nope your quite rigth, overall I've found this show good but nothing mind blowing but in junpei, you have the shows real potential to be something more, if it wants to be that is.

His and Yuji's relationship feels wonderfully natural considering they both have a common interest in films (which ties into both Yuji's soccery training and time in the casuals occult club), there bond tho short lived felt surprizingly genuine and I was really impressed that the show had the nessarcery spine to go the route it did with poor junpei. The icing on the cake was the wonderful way in which junpei is shown with Yuji at the end of the op, with them in a normal-ish school setting, which I'm sure will make rewatches of the show even more tragic.

I liked him too. He made that arc special and it wouldn't even be remotely similar if he never existed.

I miss him

I was really sad when he died i wished he continued to live on he woulda been excellent to see with itadori and the rest of them. The opening just had to give me blue balls thinking he was gonna make it and be happy

I liked junpei. There was so much potential for him as a character. He would be really good friends with yuji. And plus, his mom dying would give him a strong will to fight. I was really hoping that he would somehow get saved. But it sadly didnt happen.

Yeah obviously I like Junpei. Its like looking into another Itadori. Junpei is cool though he got lost in the path of life and later understand that. I would he is like a cool anti hero character

I'm not sure how many people have said this but the manga felt better with the way it handled Junpei. Mostly because his arc was split into chapters meaning when you finished a chapter you had some time to think about his character and all. Same with his mother.

The anime's pace wouldn't have allowed that because it adapts 2 chapter in one episode, meaning the tension that arose in the first half if the ep was resolved was in the second half. Which gives us relatively minimum time to digest his arc lol.

Junpei as a secondary character made a huge impact when he died, i like a lot the characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, they got one of the best character development. They tricked us with that opening when Junpei was in the jujutsu uniform.

Even tho he is a stepping stone character, if you don’t allow yourself to be invested in characters and decide to scrutinise their role in the story, you’re looking too deep into the story. Basically yes I liked him and it was pretty sad to see him go. I wonder if Yuji’s first failure will continue to be on his mind.

Yeah, me too. I cried a lot when he died :((( He is a very good made character, I mean, a bullied weak boy who wanted to learn more (abt jujutsu world) and to become powerfull. And btw his look is very cool, and cute in the same time. I think that if he would've lived he would've been my fav character, or probably in top three.

No, I agree. I thought Junpei was an interesting character who had great potential. The way his short-lived friendship with Yuuji evolved felt authentic and I was invested in seeing what the future may possibly hold for him as a sorcerer, which made his eventual ending all the more of a gut punch. I wasn't really surprised by what happened to him, but it was a little disappointing.

I thought Junpei was a great character because he had a hard life and I thought that he was going to learn how to deal with the pressure of everything going on in his life. So I was very upset about when he died.

I liked him a lot, and especially in the manga, his growth and complex motivations as a sorcerer really stood out from some of the other (at the time) not very fleshed-out characters. His rage and misanthropy was understandable, and you felt for him, especially after the reveal of the cigarette burns on his forehead.

His death also had real impact for me, and Sukuna's refusal to help Yuuji turn him back really emphasized how cruel he could be. More than anything, it was the casual, evil glee with which Mahito betrayed Junpei that made me hate him, and cheer for his death. What later happened to Nanami only further reinforced that feeling.

Overall, it is the ability that Akutami-san has to weave these complex characters and make them human, fallible, broken, but then rise above all of that to become something greater which is why JJK shines so brightly in Shonen Jump's roster right now.

I think he’s a solid character with a story that helped develop Yuuji as a protagonist. I certainly think the execution could be better but his story serves its purpose well.

I totally feel you. I feel like they rushed to Junpei’s death, like the only reason they introduced him was to kill him. But I still loved his character and the fact that him and Yuuji just naturally got along had so much potential. I’m not saying that he should have stayed alive but if they could’ve let his character develop a little bit I feel like it would’ve been a much greater loss, and of course another anime related reason for me to cry. ๐Ÿ˜€โœŒ๏ธ

I loved Junpei. Even though he was only around for two episodes the pain he felt and went through was terrible. A lot of my friends I've talked to about jjk don't care for him, but I'm always able to feel sympathy for someone that goes through literal hell and dies a hellish death.

I liked Junpei but thought he was featured prominently for not nearly enough time. I would have preferred to have seen him be a friend to Itadori or Itadori and co. for a few episodes longer maybe even another arc before having him bow out. I understand "cutting down potential" and "cutting down youth" but imo I thought his character arc relative to the overall story was settled on being relatively quick and cheap. It didn't hit me hard and it bothered me because I thought it could've been done well if they had opted to build him and his relationship with the other characters more thoroughly. Like Itadori had one dinner with him at his house iirc. I didn't really buy Itadori being terribly busted up over losing Junpei specifically as a result. I know some people liked it but like I said I personally felt it was quicker and cheaper than it should've been. Rushed even.

Not at all. His character worked for me even given his limited screen time and I connected with him the most out of the entire cast. He was my favorite character up until his last moments of screen time. I wish we would’ve gotten to see more from him..
