It is one of the most relaxed anime i ever watched. Every episode got a different story and different characters. The anime it's not for everyone but for me it was a masterpiece.

By combining a serene soundtrack (my 2nd fav behind Arias) and phenomenal directing with subtle, mature characterization and ingenious storytelling, Mushishi creates an atmosphere unlike anything i’ve ever seen. It knows and does what it sets out to do without resorting to pseudo-psychological blabber, or contrived melodrama. I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece since only two animangas would fall into that category for me, but it’s among the best slice of lifes and a must-watch for people who like relaxing shows.

Atmospheric sol with great amounts of lore, sentimental themes, insanely beautiful art/animation with a lot of subtle philosophy to take away from each ep. Then the soundtrack is either very powerful & soothing, and the main character is endearing af. It's setting is also one of the most interesting ones among iyashikei, mundane in style but brought to life with the "mushi" that inhabit the world & what define the conflicts behind each of ginko's endeavours whilst having really good moral ambiguity - the mushi aren't presented as straightforward bad but more neutral, that they have a need to do this rather than a want. I'd give it a 9/10.

For me, the best way to describe it is as if an painting came to life. It has this ominous aura to it that is hard to explain.
Its just so extremely unique and beautiful, there is hardly anything like it.

A series for a hard day's night. It is so easy to sleep after enjoying the show.
Help! I need somebody. Help! Not just anybody. Help! You know I need someone. Helpppppp!

because it is unique and fascinating. It brings elements of fantasy and real world into such intimate contact and potray it so beautifully that you cannot help but feel bewitched.

Mushishi somehow creates these unique moments of spiritual bliss and wonder that I have never seen in any anime. Forget real world logic, it focuses more on feeling and sensing, something that can't be captured in words.
"...our faces marked by toil, by deceptions, by success, by love; our weary eyes looking still, looking always, looking anxiously for something out of life, that while it is expected is already gone – has passed unseen, in a sigh, in a flash – together with the youth, with the strength, with the romance of illusions.” - Joseph Conrad ('Youth')
