Ultimately while AOT was a series that did get better (until that final arc) I am still of the opinion that no matter how good something gets you do have to find it somewhat appealing even early on. Even still like most people who do "does it get better" you should explain what elements are bothering or boring you so we can say whether you would enjoy it rather than people say no or yeah totally dude keep going because our preferences might be different. |

So that's what i was trying to figure out, is there any progress with the characters and also the plot ? the characters are the problem actually. AOT gives their development a backseat and does it at random. I won't be lying when I say Season 1 is easily the most boring part of AOT. Try sticking to it till Season 2 ends. Because season 3 is a sight to behold. The Season 1 is mostly gore without much substance. You'll realise how thick the lore is once you get to the right point. |

Basically once you get to S2 that's kinda the end of his first character arc. Armin and Mikasa though do get some development in S1 along with a few of the other side characters. As for progress with the plot that is still kinda vague. The series is going to be more about the Titans and surviving for the first two seasons. After that the story begins to escalate. Also you shouldn't rely on others to discern what you should watch. Popularity and hype is irrelevant if the plot is uninteresting. |
| Keep watching, the problem of the S1 is that it is focused on the worse characters. The other seasons have better focus. Just turn off your brain and watch mindless action by the moment imo |

| honestly speaking, it's one of the best anime I've ever seen. so I recommend it 100%. But the more you advance, I would recommend you not to treat it as a "masterpiece", since you would be hoping that the outcome is the best ever and you will be more disappointed, just look at it as a very good anime, not as a "masterpiece" |
