| It depends on my mood and the manga I'm reading. For rather peaceful stories, I like listening to instrumental music next to it, but when it's a horror manga or something with a lot of action and fight scenes, I don't really have fitting music for that, so I read those in a quiet environment. |

| Not at all. As much as I'd like to listen to music while reading, I'm generally picky about it, for manga. This is especially the case, when the tone suddenly shifts its atmosphere in the story (i.e. from calming to suddenly fast-paced). For me, it's not worth the time and energy choosing the song and shifting to another one, mid-chapter. I'm not picky at all, when I listen to music while doing things though (studying, drawing, etc.), for some reason. |

| It depends on what the atmosphere of the manga is like for me, and if I find it kind of lacking I listen to something that I feel would fit the tone. But I tend not to purely because I feel that the imagery is the atmosphere in its purest form and to listen to something to add to that could risk messing with the author's intended vibe. Kind of like how you wouldn't add to a finished painting unless you really knew what you were doing. I don't know, maybe I'm just weird. |
