Yeah I feel like an opening can really skyrocket the popularity of a show, provided the show is at least half decent. This show definitely has a unique enough plot though to accompany the opening in making it popular. |

Afraid of Moe, I assume that was a stupid joke? I Don't like it... but i wouldnt vote most of it a 1... because i enjoy the medium of animation... And despite it being responsible for the downfall of great animes coming out regularly. I still don't hate it like you irrationally hate Death Parade. I'd be much more concerned if i was your age and enjoyed Moe, It would mean my development had been arrested and I was a 28-29 year old with the taste of a 12 year old. Oh but I guess you know how that feels. Oh I see... So, hating one single anime I truly despised is completely irrational. However your accusation on moe like they are responsible for the downfall of anime is completely rational. That makes sense. Usually the phase of rejecting moe and everything cutesy happen in the teenage phase and usually temper down once you reach adulthood. That's why most moe and CGDCT are targeted to seinen and more grown-up audience. 12 years old don't enjoy moe. They like shounen fighting stuff with action with a more "mature" vibe to it. My taste developed since I was 12. Not yours. |
| It happened at death billiards, and continued to grow with the first 3 episodes or so. But personally I began to not dig it as much as it went on. That's not to say it doesn't stay consistent in overall quality, because it absolutely does. It's just that I for one just wanted the simple 2-person games each episode and having it left it at that. I didn't want to see the stories of the staff of the quindecim so much. They were good, but I wanted to see more games, not deities having an existential crisis. Dangit they should be above all that. It makes them more relatable, more human? They're supposed to NOT be human.... Whatever I'm just saying I really loved death billiards and thought it was an awesome introduction to what I thought would have just been a copy and paste for 12 episodes but with different people and different games. THAT I would have actually preferred. But that's just my preference you know |
