| The ending itself " light dying" is not bad on paper and was hinted at since the first episode but the execution was horrible! I always try to forget that the last arc exists |

| I actually really liked the ending, it was great to see how megalomaniac and paranoid Light had become, and we hadn’t realised it until this very last episode haha.. Looking backwards, everything started going down for him when he met Misa ^^ |

| Honestly, I hated episodes 36 and 37 (or rather everything after 25th episode, but those were the worst). It felt unreal that someone like Light, a mastermind, would lose it and just burst into laugh right in front of L v2.0, even though he wasn't 100% sure of his victory. Of course, nearly half a year after I watched Death Note it feels obvious that someone as insane as Kira would at some point lose their mind and do exactly what he did, but back then I was like "really, Light? Seriously?" However, I liked the finale of the finale (bruh), when Ryuk killed Raito. I mean, we were told that he would one day take Kira's life, and yet we've all either took it as a joke or simply forgot about it. For me, that's the best type of plot twist. |

| My big problem with the ending is that Light didn't lose because he was outsmarted, but because Mikami fucked up and gave the investigators an edge when they were gambling it all. The thing is that Light doesn't really make a mistake or gets overwhelmed by his situation besides for Mikami's big fuck up. To be fair, the whole last third of the show was poorly plotted specially compared to what came before, but that thing specially got me. Besides that, If you ignore how Light ends up getting caught, the fact that he gets overwhelmed and with nowhere to go, and in this situation reveals himself to the investigators and for the first time confronts his adversaries with his true ideals and belifs only to get mocked. I think that element was perfect. As said by previous comments on this thematically it works, it makes the story come full circle, and is what was hinted at from the beginning. | Tbh the ending of DN was one of the things I LOVED the most about this show, It's kinda refreshing to see such a different ending route like this than the rest of animes. |

| If by ending you mean the final episode, then I enjoyed it and I find it fitting for the story. If you mean the final arc then no. Everything after episode 25 with the exceprion of the finale mentioned above is horrible. |
