| Really? I can hear Fukasawa all over the track. It sounds like if the Tsukihime main theme and the entire OST of ufoUBW had a baby. Regardless though, it sounds great. If my guess is correct, Kate is only mentioned because Fukasawa will most likely remake the original OST, rather then compose everything from scratch. This is why Kate is also credited in the Babylonia anime alongside the other composer despite not actually working on it. It's because it mostly uses remixes of his tracks. And if memory serves me correctly, Kajiura is also credited in ufoUBW due to having two remixes of her original F/Z tracks in there. |

I don't think he's going to make the scale of the story bigger. It'll still be about the Tohnos, Ciel and the innocent little Vamp who's discovering the world for the very first time. The difference this time will be that Tohno Shiki would be on par with Ryougi and Nanaya would be closer to Katana Ryougi, and so on. As it stands, Akiha, the headstrong heir to the family with the strongest demon blood that they can barely suppress, is more or less on the same level as Tokiomi, an average mage at best. I can see why Nasu would want to tweak things a little bit. For me, I think that upping the scale would only serve to make the MEoDP seem even more broken, which is good. People who came from F/SN, let alone FGO, would always have Servants in mind and will compare them to the characters in Tsukihime and be underwhelmed. Now we have those ridiculous beings that will be made on par with Servants who can be snuffed immediately by this frail boy who can't have two days before passing out from anemia. This will retain the same feeling the readers had the first time they read Tsukihime. |

| The bit about the original Shiki being way too assertive as a product of the era (the 90s) and that they had to tone it down somewhat for the remake kinda worries me. Shiki being forceful in his interactions is a huge part of his character and charm, so I'm not sure how that can be toned down without making Shiki feel more like a generic protagonist. Other than that, this was an awesome interview and very eye-opening. Though, it says a lot when Nasu had to go out of his way 4 times in the interview to say that working on FGO and its new lore helped recontextualize Tsukihime in his brain which helped him a lot in writing the remake. I believe this was produced in parallel with FGO. Did this point make anything difficult? Takeuchi: Producing FGO is like publishing a weekly manga, and producing TsukiR was like producing a movie while the whole staff focuses on keeping the manga's weekly release going. Both games mean a lot to us, and we wanted to give them our full attention, without compromises. Without FGO, TsukiR would have been completed earlier, but there are some places we could only reach because FGO happened. I couldn't be more proud of how things happened. Nasu: That's right. Without FGO, TsukiR would have been out earlier, but we have been a lot less demanding about its quality. I mentioned before that FGO is the game you play casually while TsukiR is the game you adjust your posture to play. Making both at the same time was important to keep this dynamic constantly in my mind. This is hard to believe, considering that Mahoyo came out before FGO and that was and still is the peak of the industry-quality-wise. In fact, it'd be very hard for even TsukiR to take that crown from it. Same goes for the quality of writing. The majority of Nasu's best writing is all outside of FGO, so not sure how that elevated the bar that TsukiR must meet. But regardless, it's clear that an insane amount of care and love was put into the remake. Also, the way Nasu talks about MB: Type Lumina makes it sound like it's kind of a required read before the remake. TsukiR tells the story of the Near Moon, so I still have to make the Far Moon, and the players must know about one more thing I'd want to show. Finishing TsukiR will leave you satisfied, but not full. I approached French Bread in hopes of satiating this hunger with a fighting game. I wanted MB:TL to show a bit of what I couldn't fit inside TsukiR. Man, I can't wait for this remake. I hope the translation doesn't take too long. |

By the way, Mr. Nasu, in TsukiR you're credited not only as the writer but also as the director. What was your role here? Nasu: Nothing different from what I always did. I talk with the visual department, request songs, supervise the voice recording, etc. It's all meant to improve on the story, so if anything is not doing that, I have to make some minor adjustments. The only thing that changed is that I recently learned that society refers to this role of seeing everything and taking responsibility as "directing". Takeuchi: Nasu was the head behind all of Type-Moon's VNs, not only TsukiR. That's what makes Nasu different from a writer who works behind a producer or a director. We have our crew of visual staff, coders, and musicians working very hard on their roles, but despite their efforts, our final product will be a Kinoko Nasu game. That makes it appropriate to say Kinoko Nasu is the writer and director. Kinoko Productions. A Kinoko Nasu game. For this one it will either be soon or never, without a PC release. |

| Just had the thought cross my mind that Nasu decided to scrap the Sacchin route and instead just turned it into the new Melty Blood's story mode as a proper prequel to the original. Hopefully I'm wrong. |

| Well, Satsuki can't be in Type Lumina because she gets bit after the start of Tsukihime. She'd be a completely normal human at that part of the story and therefore not likely to be a playable character. Sacchin is also very tightly tied to the Back Alley Alliance, which can't exist without Roastbeef and Sion, which we got a confirmation that the latter isn't in it. But, well, Type Lumina is confirmed to have 10 playable characters. If they're keeping the main ones from Tsukihime, then: 1. Arc 2. Shiki 3. Ciel 4. Akiha 5. Kohaku 6. Hisui The last four will probably be 7. Powered Ciel 8. Mech-Hisui 9. Akiha Vermilion 10. Archetype:Earth Neko-Arc can't be there because no TATARI. No Aoko because they're not gonna blow their Aozaki load on this small game that's a little more than a demo and a little less than a full game. Miyako And Kishima could happen, but... read the point above. No Len (both, of course) or Nanaya for obvious reasons. But hey, this is all based on the original's story. Who knows how much Nasu changes things in the remake, which has to reflect on this game. |
