I can't speak for them, but the duel was completely forced to begin with just to give Crow some more screentime. Crow had no reason to seek revenge against Bommer since Bommer wasn't even with the Dark Signers when the kids disappeared, so Crow had no legitimate reason to hold a vendetta against him. Likewise Bommer had no reason to duel Crow since he was supposed to be dueling Signers, and Crow wasn't one at the time. I'm glad that the duel finished since I didn't like it. I mean the winning move looked cool but overall the duel was unneeded. Also why the hell was there an entire city underground with buildings intact? I liked how the Parasite Mind Trap Card was a callback to YGO DM though. |
| I can't shake the feeling that Bommer's opponent was originally supposed to be Rua. The irony of Bommer fighting someone who tries to protect his sister is too perfect of a match-up, plus Rua had already lost to him once. Not to mention, a deck that inflict a bunch of effect damage vs |

| So Dark Flattop brings back Greiger's sky fortress card. Crow took a bit of a beating after sky fortress' ability took down his Blackwing Armor Master, but he isn't out just yet. He gets back up and rides again. Gregier in his thoughts realizes he shares a common goal with Crow and understands how he shared duel monsters with his friends, just like how Greiger did the same with his family. Crow's trap sinks both sky fortress and dark flattop, but Greiger actually has an earthbound immortal, Chacu Challhua, which looks like a shark or dolphin (that is a whale, the episode name of the dub is "A Whale of a Ride", oops). Pretty cool and intense duel with Crow saving himself twice with traps to stop his attacks and deal damage against Greiger, Crow is awesome. Greiger's earthbound immortal showed the spirits of Greiger's family and kids, temporarily breaking him free from the control of the darkness, but Roman controls him again after Gregier resists, telling Crow to win the duel and free the spirits. Crow wins, and despite Greiger free from darkness, he got sent to the netherworld RIP. Kinda weird how he shifted the blame about losing his village to the dark signers instead of Goodwin even though he was so confident that it was Goodwin during the Fortune Cup. Maybe it was some bad actor who was secretly a dark signer and made the reactor go out of control by Greiger's village, that would make more sense. The signers are going to need to stick together for these future battles though, just like Gregier said, it is getting more dangerous. |
