| Will probably get some flak for this, but after reading some of the WN past where season 1 ended, I don't really see the point of arguments like these, and not for the reasons people usually list. Both clearly have a positive influence on Subaru and help him grow as a person. As for me personally, I like Rem over Emilia, but Emilia is good too and has her positive traits that will get time to shine in season 2. I would prefer both if possible, but who knows with the author. |

This should be a place to have fun and share quality memes everyone laughs about, not a place to hate, it's obviously a pointless discussion since the start. [I'd google up a good gif and start cropping but I am not on my pc and it's a pain to work on the travel_laptop.] As a man of culture though and cause I like messing with people, just a friendly reminder towards fans of actually good isekai shows: DATA BASE - DATA BASE - just living in the DATA BASE s3 is finally coming up as well. If NGNL can also manage that some day then bliss needs to be redefined. |

Watch the Frozen Bonds OVA (if you haven't already!). It gives some much-appreciated screentime for Emilia and we get to find out more about her relationship with Puck. Emilia is the main heroine of Re:Zero and it would be good to get to know more about her, will make the series (especially future seasons) more enjoyable. It has some foreshadowing and it raises tons of mysteries/questions around Emilia and Puck which will be answered in future season. And it'll probably make some things in season 2 more impactful. So I'd definitely suggest you watch it. Thanks for the recommendation, I can't believe I missed out on this! |

Remember she takes on Betelguese and manages to easily defeat him in attempt to save the villagers?. In the first arc (during her fight with Elsa in the loot house) she does not use her full power because Subaru was very close by and she did not want to hurt him. She could've totally destroyed the whole slum area if she had used her full power. Emilia is a spirit mage (one who uses spirit magic) and her contracted spirit is Puck (literally the Apocalypse). It takes HUGE amounts of mana and talent to be able to form a contract and summon a great spirit like Puck. She's waaaay more powerful than Rem. And if you've seen the Frozen bonds OVA you should probably already know that she's nowhere even close to her full power yet. If she's serious she can totally wreck opponents. It is just that she is too kind and dislikes hurting anyone. Her kindness and unwillingness to hurt others is probably her biggest weakness. (2) Cute Although this is subjective and depends on personal tastes. BUT IMO she is super cute and hot. Go and re-watch the first 12 episodes of the anime (especially that Lap pillow scene) and also watch the frozen bonds ova. She is also super kind and tries to help everyone (even people who try to hurt her). Unlike Rem who is kind to only Subaru and very cold/ruthless with other people. (3) Dumb You call her dumb because she chose to behave sensibly and tried to keep Subaru out of harm? Because she chose to NOT suck the dick of some total stranger boy whom she met just a few weeks back? If anything I'd say Rem is dumb to blindly follow someone like Subaru whom she met like 2 weeks back. Subaru could have ACTUALLY been a spy from the witch cult and Rem would've still blindly believed in him. This is just plain stupidity. (4) Overall Rem is more verbal/vocal about her feelings and openly expresses herself. Emilia is somewhat more reserved and less expressive. It's mainly because of her complicated and tragic past that has shaped her this way. I can totally see why many people prefer Rem over Emilia. And I don't really mind. But its totally absurd to hate on Emilia and call her dumb, ugly or weak.. |

In terms of tiered Ranking, Emilia is an A-tier, Rem in full horn mode is a B-tier. Emilia is the stronger in combat power and she has an immense reservoir of mana. Rem has more physical strength, which is to say she can beat Emilia in arm wrestling. On a 1 to 1 combat Rem is easily defeated by Emilia. |
