This isn't pre-60's era nor is it the front of the bus, besides, anime wasn't made for white folk either.

Being an anime fan, skin-color is irrelevant.

why do you even need to inserting the race?

Well....it's not like anime is made for white or black people...

It's made for Japanese people.

We (non-Japanese people) are simply piggybacking.

Just like American cartoons are made for Americans....if Non-Americans want to also enjoy it, that's cool too.

Ehh... you get the occasional character that raps, or at least rhymes.
They aren't always drawn as dark-skinned characters either.
So it's a little more than just soundtracks.

Personaly i like it . Although the rappers don't have anything to do with it . The fans are the ones that make AMVs and fanart that brings hip hop and anime in the same place . An XXXTentacion AMV is what made me watch anime regulary , and i couldn't Be more grateful . All in all , i think hip hop is doing anime a great favor by spreading its popularity .

Well you see a lot of anime fans among professional athletes and actors nowadays as well, hell even former president Obama acknowledged and thanked Japan for anime and manga. Truth be told the medium is becoming more and more excepted. Its certainly not mainstream, but no doubt its slowly heading into that direction.

black people in the west have always been real into asian culture.
They always were into kung fu movies for instance (just look at the wu-tang clan) , and now theyre into anime and jrpgs and all that good stuff

its probably partly a reaction to being surrounded by only white people in the mainstream media.

Because this thread won't gain popularity without a factor trying to pull-out the users.

I don't care. With the internet, random nerd culture is getting exchanged about. Hell, it's really shocking how e-sports is advertising anime because some of the players watch it and talk on Twitch about it or stream jRPGs.

As long as people don't be rioting whenever cultural appropriation or whatever gross issue appears in anime arise, we're cool. There's so much anime and manga out there that it's offended everyone at one point or another. It's much appreciated if one doesn't act like a special snowflake when it happens.

Strangely enough, I just started watching Tokyo Tribe 2, and I'm loving it.

Anyways, I enjoy seeing how global anime has become, where anime starts taking parts of different cultures and reinterpret their styles through anime. Flipping that around, it's cool to see how anime can find itself in other cultures and sub-cultures around the world, where people don't necessarily have to be anime fans to enjoy anime. Rather, they may just enjoy a good show, to where anime becomes less of a form of Japanese-derived entertainment and more of another means to get a kick out of certain genres of storytelling, which just so happens to be a Japanese product. If it can make every culture involved more diverse, which in this case is anime and hip hop, then I'm all for it.
