I see some people have already mentioned Death Parade.

But I will repeat: Death Parade

Also, it makes me sad that in 50 posts, nobody mentioned:

Shinsekai Yori

Holy damn, I think that series has actually burned the deepest, considering pretty much everything that happens in that world. I can't be the only one, guys. The good thing about this is that it doesn't use cheap melodrama to be sad, that's just how the world is, and it sums it up beautifully.

Clannad afterstory, code geass and rainbow: nisha rokubou no shichinin

As for angel beats, I don't really understand what was so sad about it, and I didn't enjoy the series in general

I liked Angel Beats quite a lot, but yeah, any feels felt during the show's run certainly weren't due to sadness (well, except maybe the moment Angel vanishes)--rather, all the feels-y moments were meant to be bittersweet and heartwarming, I thought. Those moments all revolve around various characters finally finding peace and acceptance in their tortured lives, so it's weird to hear a lot of people saying it's a sad show.

I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom:

"Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news.
Shoujo is the superior genre primarily aimed at young people.
Harem/isekai are lazy genres that refuse any meaningful innovation.
There is no 'Golden Age.' There will always be top-shelf anime.
You should be watching Carole & Tuesday."

Nana made me feel the saddest. I think because I could see the same things happening to me and I've been through the same type of situations as the characters.

Anime - it's not something that can be thought of in a hall for conferences. It is made out of strange juices current from the brain of animators.
