Would be fun though if I could speak it myself, it has so many special characters in words when compared to regular dutch xD

For example:
Keuksk'n = koekje = cookie
Bi'jnoa = bijna = almost
Blöaz'n = blazen = blowing
Bløkken = blaffen = barking

That actually sounds pretty similar to how Bavarian changes German words to sound odd ^^

Hendl = Hühnchen = chicken
griag = kriege = get
oans = eins = one
^^

Yay, but do you also use characters that don't exist in the normal language like ø? xD

Well, originally we didn't really use the ø either, but it was introduced by a local pop band in I think the 1980s with the word "Høken" which more or less refers to "fun stuff". It's a bit difficult to translate :3

Fries? It sounds like West-Flemish dialect of Dutch mixed with regular Dutch and a bit of Norwegian/Danish/whatever scandinavian language in there o.0

The band that first used it describes its meaning as "everything that's fun, but does not have anything to do with s*x and/or violence" :3
While on the other hand the van dale dictionary describes it as "a fantasy word with the afterthought of f*cking"... they sound salty for some reason xD

Sächsisch is like the worst German dialect, so not sexy xD

So they didn't like a band inventing a new word and changed the meaning completely? ^^

Don't know :3
Well, achterhoeks is treated in the netherlands kinda like how texan is treated in america xD

Maybe its because the band has got a history of mischief? :P

What do you mean? Like nobody taking what we have to say seriously? Well, I guess that's not too far from the truth xD
We are known for having a different mentality towards working than say the west of the country, as in being hard workers etc, but on the other hand the government seems to treat us like we're already part of germany or something :P

Sometimes people around here like to make jokes about being part of germany etc. We live very close to the border resulting in a lot of germans being here as well, the government seems to want to take all the work opportunity from here over to the west and thus forcing us to either move to the west or stay here in farmer land, many do some things like refueling their car in germany and some even work there xD

Guess you get controlled by the police quite a lot because of drugs and stuff then? Seeing as it's forbidden in Germany :P
I know of some Danish people who also live near the border who come to Germany on a regular basis as well, it's proabably also the other way around ^^

lol the cliché of drugs being abundant in the netherlands only holds true in the west. Nobody would come deal drugs to us farmers :P
I guess that's what you get when fuel across the border is so much cheaper than it is here :3

One thing that I do notice though whenever I cross the border is how chaotic the traffic regulation is when compared to here ^^

Well you do have them coffee shops in the Netherlands where you can buy cookies and stuff right? :3
Yeah the prices are so low at the moment, nobody would've expected that :o

Yeah I know the shops of which you speak. But you won't find those cookie shops here :3

I'm more talking about cross roads and biking trails. Unlike in the netherlands I've had to drive on the side of 100km/h roads without any proper biking trails and then when there's finally biking trails further down the road, they're on the other side forcing us to cross.
And in case of cross roads... well, it seems rather pointless to have traffic lights on them when most of them turn green at once :P
For example: when you approach a cross road with traffic lights, all of them on both your and the opposite side turn green. In other words, if you want to turn left you will have to watch out for traffic going straight from the other side and even bicycles ^^

That's why I want to spend some holidays in Amsterdam ^^

Though the case with the 100km/h road is normally not that bad, where I live there's practically always a road for bicycles :3
The thing with the traffic lights is actually the default behaviour for me, I probably would still be cautious in the Netherlands when I get green and watch out xD

I've been in amsterdam, and I wouldn't recommend it haven't been to dem cookie shops obviously :P

I hope so :3
Well, around here they make sure that when the traffic lights turn green, that there will never be traffic crossing your path not counting people ignoring the red light of course. So you'll only have straight+right on both sides on green, or left on both sides on green. Then there's of course the other 2 sides xD
The bicycles are almost treated like some kind of roundabout but then in a square shape which will turn green and all cars will stay on red :3

Luckily I don't often have to deal with dem traffic light nightmare roads with loads of weirdly placed traffic lights xD

Though what's not so good about traffic here when compared to germany is the insane fines you get if you do anything wrong :P

Why not? I would at least visit such a shop once to see how it looks inside :3

Sounds pretty good, I wouldn't mind if they used this system here. Might prevent some accidents ^^

I would argue that the fines in Germany are a bit too low, sometimes you can just drive way faster and pay like 25€ and that's it :P

I've been to amsterdam a few times and I don't like the city; it's too messy :3

Yeah, you could argue that, but on the other hand most of the fines here will get you over €200 each :P
The largest fine you can get for driving too fast before losing your drivers license for example is roughly €400 at least I think that's the max :P

Since I live in Munich I'm used to messy big cities already ^^

But that probably means that Dutch people drive more responsibly, right? In Germany there are "a lot" of drunk drivers or people who drive way too fast since the fine is not that high. I think a good middleway would be perfect :3

I'm not sure as to what you mean with "a lot", but at least I can say that there's no shortage of crazy behaviour on the roads here. Especially driving while doing things like using your phone seem to be popular here :3

It's a relatively large town for the countryside, but it's definitely not a city ^^
And outside of special evens not many people come here from outside anyways :3

Nope, that is a part of an event we hold here once a year which is called "bloemencorso" where we spend friday evening and all of saturday until we're done putting flowers on those big vehicles so they can be a part of a large parade on sunday (not counting the months of work done before that weekend) :P
I have already talked about it before here, do you remember? :3

Hmm frankly I do not remember, gomenasai >.<
That looks pretty cool though, but also like it took a lot of work :o
I lived near Neuburg where the best thing happening was the Schlossfest every two years in June which was also pretty cool :3
