Wow, this show had a pretty serious turn around here. We've gone from ten episodes in a row of Marin being naked for one reason or another to some serious grit. This show seems to do its best to not be very good, but has this odd core of artistic direction that keeps me interested in seeing more. Normally if I started watching a show and it went into a side ark full of annoying loud fuzzy things, naked children, and silly marshmallow planets I would check out, but somehow it has managed to keep me hanging on by a thread through it all.

I actually really respect how they handled this episode. Normally in anime a character such as Marin would never be corrupted or beaten down by her world, but rather would just be depressed for a few episodes. Here she stole food, snapped at people, stood up for herself (rather than having a pity party) and murdered a woman! Also to see that the world was not still happy-go-lucky, that characters are dead or wounded, and that everything cannot go back to how it was is pretty refreshing too (so many anime have a "reset switch" somewhere that I appreciate shows like this one, or "Melody of Oblivion" where the consequences seem to hold).

I'm not the type that requires something to go dark to be good, in fact to many shows wreck themselves doing it. Rather, I appreciate the realism and humanity that has existed in the background this whole time, and really seemed to flourish this episode. I look forward to more!

Of course she goes away and does her best to save everyone, finds out that there's yet another thing that she isn't responsible for and cannot solve, and then gets blamed for other people's suffering and pretty much everyone treats her like she is making them all suffer on purpose :( Oh and to add insult to injury she's now blind.

At least she has her senpai to comfort her

Dannnng shit got real all of the sudden. I honestly gotta applaud this show. Not many shows featuring "alien robots" would have stuff like this. I thought the crazed murdering ex-mother was a shocker but this episode just added more to the surprise of this anime.

I'm a fan of Murder Mom. Before now, Marin didn't think about all the collateral damage she was a part of. Instead she was living her best life. Murder Mom is important. Marin's gotta accept what happened to those people and apologize. To Murder Mom at least.

That aside, that perv kid was trash in the first episode and its great he lost an eye now. He shouldn't be blaming Marin for what she couldn't control. She doesn't owe him shit.

I skip the openings now because this show has passed the limit on naked children being shown for (Tittillation? Humor? Innocence?) FOH. Its barely acceptable in the main show and this is the new OP animation?!

All nonsense aside I rock with this show. I have no idea what's going to happen next and our heroine is pretty great. Lets see what happens next.
