| Alluka is trans. Kalluto is cross-dresser. Kurapika is male. Neferpitou,imo is androgynous in manga (tho I believe royal guards are non-binary) and female in anime. | Still a Female for me. Maybe Togashi wanted Pitou to be a Male at first, but Pitou appeared to be androgynous and did have the feminime side. Pitou even became more female as the manga goes on. And Pitou is indeed a Female in Anime. So it's basically Manga= originally going to be Male, but became a Female later on Anime=Female At the end of the day Pitou is a Female. Yes I'm stubborn, but we can have our own opinion. Pitou is a Female for me. Feel free to clasify Pitou as a "she" "he" or "it" On the side note: Pitou is my favorite character, that I can't watched episode 131 anymore. It's tough for me to watch her die. |

| I always though that Neferpitou was female, no doubt. Feminine body, feminine voice, but... 'she's' probably going to turn out to be a 'he.' Happened for Kalluto. Looked female in the manga. Also I can see Neferpitou turning out to be male. |

| I'm making an account just so I can post here and make some clarifications (also, I'm referring to her with female pronouns): Originally, in the manga, Pitou is genderless. She is neither directly referred to as either. The points mentioned were her manner of speaking being masculine ("boku") but that argument doesn't hold a lot of water when you consider it's pretty common for females to use. In Higurashi, Hanyuu uses boku, and is neither male nor tomboy. Another mentioned was her name- being a reference to Nefertem, could also be a reference to Nefertiti, who was an Egyptian queen. Saying she's flat-chested isn't all that great of an argument either, because women can also be flat chested. Also, in chapter 304, she is drawn with prominent breasts, just like in the anime.  It's been further noted that Pitou has been portrayed as female figured or descriptors more than once (Virgin Mary placement, described as a mother). Additionally, it seems nearly more appropriate for her being female to offset Youpi and Pouf. For some canon references, Hunter X Hunter Battle Collection officially recognizes Pitou as female, so the debate can end. In the manga, she was androgynous. In the anime, she was clearly female, and now in another canon source she is officially listed as female. Thus, Pitou is female and that's pretty much all there is to say about it. |
