| I'd read FATE and UBW route in the VN before the H/F movies. However, at this point it's tough to say. If the H/F movie(s) is/are good, then it's probably recommended to not read H/F before watching it as anime with the proper atmosphere is awesome. However, if the H/F movie(s) is / are garbage, then it's recommended to just read the VN because otherwise the movie(s) would just spoil it. In short, can't tell until H/F movie(s) come(s) out. |

But who knows, everything is possible... |

Considering that Nasu doesn't even recognize the UBW movie as an adaptation, he probably feels that a movie isn't enough for an entire route, especially as H/F is the longest route. I personally am hoping for something like what KnK has, which would be ~ 7 movies. And no censoring. |

Playing the previous routes is a must if you want to experience everything about HF. |

| Watching UBW is a must if you're not going to read the novel. Reading the visual novel would definitely make HF a better experience, but that's definitely not a requirement. UBW covers some of the stuff that you miss if you skip Fate, so UBW suffers more than HF will. But it's still fine anyway, so there's nothing to worry about if you're not interested in the vn imo. |
| I'm sure UFO will make HF movies accessible enough for people who've only watched Zero and UBW anime. People who've read the VN will just get more out of the movies than the average viewers. Also keep in mind that to play HF properly, you have to play Fate route first and then UBW route. Zero and UBW anime won't be enough to actually reading through the entirety of HF Route. I think if you like Fate series enough to post in this subforum, you'll enjoy the VN regardless of its length and pacing tho. |
