You may have seen people with a signature like this above. To make this one I used the site's signature generator for the info, then added the background. Very easy. Follow my steps and I'll show you how to make your own signature this way with the renders and backgrounds you want! Or you can use my premade signature backgrounds.
Step 2: Set your signature
Now under Options and Colors, find Image Type and set it to one of the Custom options. Set the width option (below it) to 600. The other color options you're free to mess with. Just make sure Image type and Width are set like in the visual example below, and afterwards make sure you save the changes with the Blue Button labeled "Update Signature" at the bottom.
Step 3: Choose a premade signature and download it
You'll can pick from one of the premade sigs from this link. You want to use the download from the link next to the words Download Link for the sig you want and download it to your computer. http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=496023&show=0#post1
Step 4: Set sig to use that background
Now go back to the page http://myanimelist.net/editprofile.php?go=signature and go to Check to use a Custom Background. Click Remove Current Background Image if you see the text there, and Browse for the background you downloaded from Step 3 and select it. If you get an error saying it had an error uploading the file, keep trying. If it gives you an error message that its too large, you will need to use a new file or cut it down, which I touched on in Step 3.
Afterwards, make sure click the blue button at the bottom of the page labeled Update Signature! After a minute or less, you can try to click Update Signature again and it should show up as an example on the page in the preview window labeled Current Signature.
Circled here:
Step 5: Set sig to display for sure!
Normally, you would copy the code from the Signature Code box and paste it into the Signature box on the Forum Options page, but due to a site glitch it messes up a lot. So to be sure, we'll do it in a more effective way. Refresh the page or click Update Signature until you see the signature previewed in the Current Signature window (as seen in the previous step). Right-click it and choose View Image.
Now copy the address URL from the new page that comes up when you view the image, as highlighted in blue here:
Now go to this page: http://myanimelist.net/editprofile.php?go=forumoptions
and paste that address you copied into the box labeled Signature at the bottom. Add right after, as in the example below (I underlined it):
Now when you save with the blue button Update Signature on the bottom of that page, it should display in the forum and update normally! You can change the background and other settings too when you want, just check the FAQ below. Here's some more additions you can make to it you'll def want:
In the signature box where you just posted the address, now add to the front and to the end of it. Now after the equal sign, put any link or web address you want and save with the blue button at the bottom. The signature will link to that page! A good choice is your anime list or profile page.
In addition, you can also add to the front and to the end. This will center the signature when you post in the forum!
After those changes, the code in my box looks like this:
FAQ My sig is set to show my recent anime and manga or another category, can I change it to something else?
Yes, go to the "Remove Current Background Image" on the My Signature page and click it. Then reupload a new siggy background.
My signature showed up, but then vanished later on.
It exceeded the limits of what the site allows for sig size and was removed, you'll have to use a smaller one. None of the premade ones are too large.
Any other problems or questions just post here and I'll see what I can do, be descriptive tho so I can figure out the problem. Just posting "It didn't work" doesn't tell me what went wrong.
Ok so i got it to work but now i have another problem...
It won't show the full pic. The size of my pic is exactly 600 x 140 px. I've set the width to 600 px but it shows like half of it... I really don't know what to do. Please help.
Hi so i got it to work with this new pic but with the old one it won't show it properly. I don't know why because both pics have the same dimensions 600 x 140 px. It's weird, may I've been doing something wrong?

I don't know what happened, but I would just paste the old sig over the new one and upload that as your new sig if you want to reuse that previous pic. That way you're using essentially the same file and dimensions which show up how you want (hope that makes sense!).
