Have you seen Spartacus (directed by Kubrick), Clash of the Titans (original) or Jason and the Argonauts?
They were all great and are worth watching although Clash of the Titans only came out in 1981.

Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my leg... and my arm... even my fingers. The body I've lost... the comrades I've lost... won't stop hurting... It's like they're all still there. You feel it, too, don't you? I'm gonna make them give back our past."

Nope haven't seen any old movie like this, except maybe Alibaba and some other where a guy shrinks or smth or a few others who I can barely remember idk

I've watched Clash of Titans 1981. a few days ago its amazing! :) I don't know why the horned guy used the horn to make sound when he used it any idea? and Pegasus was pretty easy to find, sure he's not that hard to catch but wouldn't someone already catch him if he was always at the same spot, how did they even know where he is :S

tnx for the suggestions

If you're looking for modern takes on mythologic story:

-There is this 1969 Japanese movie: Funeral Parade of Roses, which is an adaptation of Oedipus story set in the Japanese society of the 1960s, it inspired Kubrick when he directed A Clockwork Orange.

-There's also that 1950 French movie: Orpheus from Jean Cocteau (it's part of a trilogy, but I've only seen this one.) set in France. It has one of the best line I've heard in a movie:
"What does marble think when it's being sculpted? It thinks, "I am struck, insulted, ruined, lost." Life is sculpting me. Let it finish its work."

- I've also heard really great thing about this 1989 Italian movie: Nostos: Il Ritorno which narrates the story of Ulysse. I haven't watched it but It was highly recommended to me.
