| Hello, I am a watcher of the Gintama anime and I would like to ask if there is anything important I need to know before reading this current arc, I hear it's a very good arc but I don't feel like reading all the comedy chapters just to get to this one since I feel like the comedy is better in the anime. So, is there anything I need to read before I start this arc? Also, what chapter does the arc start on? Thanks in advance :) |

| It's fine if you skip most of the comedy arcs after the third Gintama anime if you want some story progression. But there are a couple of serious arcs that you have to read because there are some things worth knowing before going straight into the current arc and get its full effect. |

| I recommend you read the Shinigami arc, chapters 463-469. The current arc starts at chapter 502. |
