| No. If you're looking for well-written mysteries and solid characters, this isn't the best choice. It's full of melodrama, one dimensional emotional characters and a psuedo dark atmosphere. I see you have Shinsekai Yori on your favourites and this show tries to be like that but fails to be even near the level of that. If you wanted something like SSY, there's also the book Crimson Labirinth (English translated, same author), anime Kimi no Iru Machi which has similar animation effects, anime Sidonia no Kishi and Natsuyume Yuujinchou which has a similar cultural setting. |
| There's nothing great about M3 but it get's way too much crap(heck,gave it some myself but laid low lately). There are MUCH worst shows that are rated higher than 6.6. I guess it got on many viewers's bad side early on(mine too,but not to such an extent) and everyone jumped on the hate bandwagon but it's shaping out nicely. For all the complaints I had early on(some which I still have as writer Okada Mari makes sure of that),I don't regret sticking with it. |

I think the main issue is that the plot is all over the place and it doesn't become "good" until later episodes. Even later on, I feel like it doesn't have the foundation to have a solid plot. |

| Now I'll definitely say it's gotten better around half-way through. If it manages to keep up this pace all the way 'till the end then I definitely think it's worth a watch for people who're patient enough with the 1st half. That's not exactly bad either but those build-up episodes weren't really utilized that well to make us care as much about the characters as the show would've liked us to save for maybe one but the backstory & development doesn't stop there so it kind of redeems itself in that regard, more or less depending on everyone's perspective. IMO, M3's weakest point start's about mid-way through the 1st cour and towards the half-way point of the series, where writer Okada Mari's favoritism of a certain, pretty bland character over a way more interesting one(some would say the only interesting one by that point) is clearly seen and can get pretty damn annoying. Luckily, it doesn't last that long and the story really start's picking up after that. But by that point many already dropped it and some continue to hate on it no matter what happens now :P And just 12-13 eps? I wholeheartedly disagree, there's no way M3 would've been even decent with only 1-cour to work with. It could've done with 2-3 episodes less(or better yet, use those episodes on other characters rather than Akashi, Sasame and their infatuation with each other which came out of the left field) but otherwise, the length is needed for the story it wants to tell. Now, as for whether better shows that would've really benefited from 2-cours like say, Tokyo Ghoul, then I wholeheartedly agree. But if we're to think like that, then everyone could surely point out a few shows that don't even deserve a single cour when there are plenty of good manga, VNs & LNs out there that deserve anime adaptations so much more. |

| First 12 episodes = decent. After the first 12 episodes = complete bullshit. That's my opinion about it. Yep, it's below average, not worth losing time watching it, seriously. Losing 2 cour to such a stupid anime *facepalm* As everyone's saying, it would have been much worth Tokyo Ghoul to have been 2 cour instead of M3. |

Hmmm seems like this show did little to redeem itself since I stopped watching. I only saw 6 episodes and was planning to go through the rest later but now i'm discouraged. |
