Hi there :3

I made a mistake in this thread and wrote in german. It turned into a small topic, so I thought it would be nice if we had a topic about our native countries.

So, my question is: Where are you from? And maybe it'll be interesting to know which languages you can speak/write.

As for me, I'm from Germany (that's in Europe, but I highly suppose you all know that xD) - forget leather trousers, sausages and beer, I'm not from the countryside of Bavaria. xD The languages I can speak are: German, English, a bit French and a bit Spanish.
Feel free to ask, if you have questions. :)

Spanish and French are at leat a bit similar, so when I was learning Spanish at school my previous French-lessons were quite helpful. xD The real funny thing is: Spanish and Italian are really similar. I can't speak or write Italian, but I can understand it a bit. xD
Nevertheless, I've forgotten a lot in Spanish and French, which is sad. I should do something against it, but my English is at least quite understandable, that's my most important language aside from German. xD

Russian, that's interesting! My old school used to teach it (as well as an old form of Greek), but stopped a few years before I came. That was kinda sad. We even have normal schools here where Japanese it being teached as a normal subject. :D That's a language I would love to know, too. x3

Oksi - chan, you attend japanese course? I'm so jelaous... I also wanted to learn japanese (especially writing), but now unfortunately I can't afford it :(

I'm from the Netherlands, a tiny little country in Europe in my option :P
Living in the south part where the borders to Belgium and German are very close (Belgium 15 minutes away, German 20-30 minutes away cause it depents) which I'm pretty proud of...
I can only speak English well, well more like write it well (and that not even that well) and I got no idea how I learned it at all thought... hmm well I learned German and French (OH NO!) on school I understand German almost fully when I read it just not when I hear it and also can't talk it, French instead is a horrible language for me, the cause probarly is because the teacher I had couldn't stop talking French and while I had no idea what she said she got mad at me >_> *ahums* aside from that I also know anime Japanese of course, well to tell the true I can understand allot raws lately and talk a little bit Japanese so I might wanna concentrate more on it in the future. And last of course I talk Dutch my home language :P kind of obvious... way to long post for me so I stop typing...
I only wanna add this: You are all amazing to know so many languages *jalous* :3 btw greetings to the German people Kenni and Euphie since they are living in my neighborcountry :3 (of course also to the other people :P)

There are so many users here whose mother languare isn't english and so it's not a shame to do some errors. I'm making mistakes and lot's of others, too. As long as you understand, what the writer want to tell you (and the other way around) , it's okay. ^^

I'm from the United Kingdom. Channel Islands to be exact. Not many people have heard of them but we're basically a clump of rocks in the middle of The English Channel. I can speak English (of course) and I'm basically fluent in French aswell.

We're about 15 minutes away from France by boat so we have alot of French influences (having originally being a part of France 1000s of years ago) and alot of famous people have holiday homes over here. For example Phil Collins has a second home here. A 10 minute walk up the road actually. I adore my little islands but wish there was more opportunity to shop.

I'm from the Netherlands too. ^^ Where I live, it's about 30 minutes to the German border, but I'm not too close to Belgium. I'm.. let's say in the Mid-Eastern part of the Netherlands. x3
Greetings to y'all, Europeans! XD Oh, and you too, cr0wn33cl0wn21. ^^

It's really impressive, you can all speak so many different languages!
I can only speak Dutch and English well. Furthermore, I can understand German and French, whereas German is a bit easier, 'cause it often sounds like Dutch. I have trouble speaking those myself though.
.. And well, I know a bit of Japanese, but I can't write kana or kanji. I can understand most (basic) things though :D

EDIT: I learned Hiragana now though! XDD

I'm from Europe, Germany to be exact up in the north...the languages I can speak...well German of course, my English is fluent, French...but not that well, I'd say it's on an intermediate level...and last but not least a bit Japanese, but I only know the grammar, I don't know many words and their meaning, one of the few examples would be "yume" = dream...

ah well, in a few months I'm going to have lessons for Danish, but that's all
