I like a lot of music with bleak atmosphere and morbid vocals because I find it very soothing. Not a lot scares me though I will admit Throbbing Gristle can make me feel rather nervous at times. When I was young I found Pink Floyd to be rather disturbing which actually led into a heavy interest in the band. I do not find Sunn O))) scary tbh actually I get kinda bored with them.

A lot of people find this song quite disturbing and eerie. Personally it didn't have the effect on me a lot of TG's other material had but yeah try this.

I remember my first time listening to Throbbing Gristle (Slug Bait I believe was my introduction to them), it wasn't that it scared me, just made me feel really uneasy.

Giles Corey puts out some really eerie tracks. The Haunting Presence starts off with that spooky piano, whiney vocals and builds into this bloody terrifying series of screams and wails with tribal drum beats mixed in. Terrified me on first listen. Absolutely love the album, though.

I don't know if I like the same kind of 'dark and scary' music as you, but I do like music that gives me the chills and thrills. Something like Muse's Conscience and Space Dementia, Radiohead's Street Spirit and Exit Music, and some soundtracks from horror and thriller movies.

Edit:
Just checked out the above examples, I think mine aren't dark and scary enough.

Well yeah I guess uneasy better describes how throbbing gristle makes me feel. I've never been straight up scared from music or movies for that matter.

Yeah, scared isn't the word. There's music that makes me jump with sudden bursts of screams or noise (the song I linked does that) or just songs that make me nervous.

Maybe the only time I've been scared was when I was 7 and as a joke my dad put Stairway to Heaven on backwards and told me the devil would possess me. At the time I shit myself, but everything is funny with hindsight.

Dark Ages sure takes the cake for me when it comes to dark and scary music.

Songs by Carach Angren have a really dark atmosphere or at least they know how to tell a dark story trough their music.

Have you tried any old school industrial music like Throbbing Gristle and Godflesh?

I didn't find the Dark ages song scary but it was pretty cool. Fear is ofcourse personal so I can see where it might make you nervous.

Yes I do! Video Game/Movie/Anime Music that is unnerving, scary or just eerie really excites me. Something like this.

Sometimes that doesn't work though, linking to the video at current time via YouTube. If it takes you to the first song, skip to 8:52 for creepy music.

I still consider this the scariest video game music ever.

Also you might like this. The music was made using human bones the group gained from grave robbing, and drilled in holes to make instruments out of.

Lustmord, a dark ambient project. Particularly the albums 'The Place Where the Black Stars Hang' and 'The Dark Places of the Earth'.

I like to...

When I want to.

Which isn't all the time.

Because it's boring half the time.

There are some songs in shiki with little girls chanting in the background. I always find that pretty scary. Higurashi main theme is also pretty scary. As a kid I was also freaked out about the bottom of the well in zelda ocarina of time. The sound effects and the song that played were not fit for 6 year old me.

not really spooky-core but Andy Stott's got some really nice beats that create a bit of a dark and eerie atmosphere, if you have a nice set up it's ridiculous on the ears. I've been drooling over his Passed By Me album for the last few months, post-dub's where it's at.

Another Giles Corey fan is nice to see as well as Have a Nice Life fans. It's great music especially for when you're feeling depressed as heck 'I'm Going to Do It' sums it up pretty much. If you aren't aware of Planning for Burial, you might like his stuff. He's good friends with Dan.

I absolutely love Have A Nice Life. Deathconciousness is high on my list of favourites. Like you said, it's certainly an album you have to listen to in a certain type of mood, though.
Really enjoyed The Unnatural World as well.

And thanks, will check Planning For Burial out!

Giygas did have some pretty creepy music. Good choice. Onto your second recommendation: I've heard the saying "take music to the grave" but that is pretty morbid. Still the music sounds rather unnerving.

What do you think of this?

Damn that was Epic! I need to watch Trigun eventually now. That reminded a lot of Power Electronics music like The Sodality.

I don't think music has ever scared me. The closest being surprise borderline cp album covers . Also misc. grindcore bands trying to be hard by putting a dead person on the cover can be a tad unsettling. But music itself is never scary.

I do enjoy dark music tho

I reccomend there existed an addiction to blood by clping, it's a rap album with creepy and eerie beats with a rapper who raps scary stories to you. It does a fantastic job of keeping you on edge. If you liked it you should check out their follow up album visions of bodies being burned.
