hello

i have a question :

if you complete a manga in your mangalist .. like example "death note" .. if you completed the manga and set it "completed" in your mangalist .do you set the anime too " completed" in your anime list ?

so if you competed a manga , do you go to watch to anime too or do you just say that
manga completed = anime completed ?

Nooooo, if you complete the manga then say you've completed the manga! The anime might be different and also you aren't seeing the anime, you're reading the manga. :P So don't say you've completed the anime unless you've actually watched it.

If I did that my manga completions would be a lot higher than what they are.

No.

Main reason is because anime differs from the source material of the manga. and sometimes both Manga and anime are based on Light novel or Game source material. So they both will differ when they are complete.

There maybe similarities. But there is always going to be differences.

For Example Full Metal Alchemist. It was completed with an alternaltive ending, and differs completely to the manga.

Or for example World only god knows, Goddess arc, the demon who attacks the Keima and the goddess is completely different in the manga to the anime.

Not to mention Anime some time leaves out certain elements of the manga or they crush them together to form a new element with a mix.

Some anime follows exactly like the manga, but some anime don't. So it's not fair to say that you've completed the anime just because you read the manga.
If you go searching around on google and you found out that the anime follows exactly like the manga, then you can set it like that.
But it's worth watching the anime even if you've read the manga because, you know, anime moves.
Except for gag manga. If the anime follows exactly like the manga, then I don't think it's worth it. All the punchlines will be less funnier.
When people asked 'why are you so quiet?',
just answer 'why are you not?'
