The best examples that I know of would be Date A Live and Sora no Otoshimono but I am sure that there are more anime like that. They start totally hilarious as a hardcore comedy where nothing but comedy maters but then half way true they turn into serious anime with serious plot, story etc. Personally I don't know wath to think about them as usually a totally hate first half of them but totally love second half (some more some less). I don't dislike comedy in general but I do dislike parodies and harcore comedies (borderline parodies). True when a whole anime is like that I don't care much for it I just label it as shit and don't give much thoughts about it but when only half of the anime is like that and the other half is a great anime with a good plot story etc. I really hate that first half of it as it ruins second half of it that I like. Wath about you?

Date A Live? That shit jumps between "comedy" and serious way more than once--even in a single episode.

Date A Live more like from really interesting in the early episodes then become dating simulation in the rest of the season.
I like anime.

I didn't mean to create this topic to discuss data a live I only name it as an example. But if you insist on talking about Date a live it stated as a shit comedy then turns into amazing anime and if there weren't for thouse first faw episodes it would be even batter.

i agree with Sora no otoshimono..
90% of each episode comedy and the last 10% turns into drama and serious situation.. lol!
-specially the second half of the seasons (even the movie!)-
Also Gintama :P
Personally, i love comedy so i can't complain about it even if it was 100% as long as it's funny :D

The very best example of this without a doubt is Narutaru. Look it up.
