| Backpack. I bring scraps of papers to take notes, notebook and beer for fun. No carrying books, that's what the library is for. |

| Backpack, notebook, lab notebook. I rarely bring textbooks since those are used mainly for homework problems |

| Backpack. Messenger bags look uncomfortable. Plus my backpack has lots of pockets. My classes don't require textbooks in the classroom, so I don't bring them. I only bring my laptop for my computer science-related classes (duh). Everything else is old-fashioned 3-ring binder and spiral-bound notebooks. No heated arguments? Man this got boring fast. |

| I don''t use a textbook during any of my classes and hardly ever need my laptop, so I just bring some 70pg notebooks and pencils which I carry in my backpack. There are some days that I'll bring a text book to study and I'll need my laptop, and while it's not really a tight fit, it's really uncomfortable-- granted my backpack is 8 years old, broken, and I can't adjust the fitting. So I generally only carry, at most, 2 textbooks+notebooks in my backpack and the rest I carry in my hands. |

| Messenger. Although, is there a difference between a messenger bag and a briefcase? Ipad, charger, 1-inch binder with dividers and paper. Whatever textbooks necessary for the day. Wallet, epipen, Advil, bandages, pencils and pens, a pair of scissors, inhaler. Some other things in my pockets. I carry a lot of small stuff. elite-sama said: don't need textbooks for class? I'm asking because messengers look stylish as fuck, but I can't imagine how they would be functional for ordinary use. PDFs are so convenient and helpful for cutting down on textbook clutter. It just sucks when you can't find one...which can be a lot, depending. This thread is also deceptively calm...What are you planning?! |

| i'm in the land of messenger bags so its pretty funny no one uses a backpack here messenger bags aren't that bad if you don't have to carry a lot but i like backpacks with nice padding |

| Does anyone here use a duffle bag (gym bag) for carrying around textbooks and stuff? I was doing it for a while, they are roomier than messenger bags, at least. |
