| Before all else, allow me to beg for people to stay on topic. Okay then. - You all have animes you think are overrated- but what makes them overrated? What is the most annoying thing about overrated animes? Cliche scenes? Predictable characters? Uninteresting plot? Horrible art? Crappy animation? How would YOU make it better? Personally, I'll have to say Rozen Maiden was just awful. The sound effects don't match what's being shown, and the art is just. . . bleh. The characters are also cheesy. Dem swiss cheesy. I think Rozen Maiden would've been better if they worked harder on the art, although it's undeniably their style is unique and i would recognize it anywhere. They should've made the art slightly more realistic and maybe more like something from Gosick. Well, Gosick >>IS<< newer then Rozen Maiden by several years but. . . There is art from animes in the 1980's that looked better. |

| What makes them overrated? Artfags obviously. Also romancefags at times too. I tried watching Junjou Romantica but I got distracted too easily and couldn't last half of the episode. Maybe I'll watch it later, but still don't see why it's such a popular Shonen Ai. I can list better... if you give enough time... maybe... And usually when it's aired in mainstream channels especially for kids, making Naruto "overrated", but I can see why. I enjoy Naruto myself too. One Piece... eh, I can't care for it much. Maybe if anime such as Sword Art Online stayed with the plot and the characters took the game more seriously it would've been better. If it wasn't filled with so much drama and girls chasing Kirito around, it would've been a little better. There was so much the creators could've put in the game than putting up one boss in each level and just clearing the game straight off to make it look like a challenge. Vampire Knight is even lower than cliche, to be honest. It's a new Twilight. If you want something to do with vampires, watch Shiki or Hellsing. |

Wait, I've got it, I believe when anime get an English dub it becomes overrated due to the fact when people that only watch dubs see it they thinks its amazing because they haven't had the experience of watching non-dubbed anime, for example Naruto, everyone westerner likes it because it has really good dub.... The art was quite decent, but the preferances differ for everyone so you'll either like it or not. Same for the sound. More or less the only thing I liked about the anime, mainly because of Kugumiya Rie. |
| I find that animes I can predict either dialogue or plot points very just meh. I don't want to be able to figure out something before it happens. This is especially true to romance animes. I find them so predictable its almost sad. Yes there are some that are really good. But from what I have seen they are few and far between. If the music doesn't fit or is out of place I find it very annoying. I am a big music fan so if music is weird or untimed then I find the whole mood is put off. I also hate annoying character voices. That is no fault of the anime but it's just me being picky. But I can't sit through an anime if I find the voices annoying lol. When there are endless pointless battles. Which I can only say for new animes. Cuz I am in love with Dragon Ball Z. And that is pretty much an endless battle. But when new animes do it. I feel that they had nothing better to put in, and are just copying what the older popular animes did that worked. And huzzah new popular anime is born. Also in a anime that isn't mainly ecchi then it turns into that. Like I get having some in particular animes. But is it really that necessary in an anime about zombies? I love HSotD but the fan service kinda made it less cool. I mean it's a zombie apocalypse not a love fest lol. Yea I kinda went off there. Sorry but I have a lot of ideas lol |

Both are about a black haired guy coming from the normal world into a "wizard world"...
