Most of the most popular manga series that are serialized in Japan are quite unknown here in America.

Not gonna lie, it kinda saddens me that the only thing Americans care about is Naruto and Kill la Kill all the time.

They are missing out on great series like Kochikame, Assassination Classroom, Nanatsu no Taizai, etc. Just to name a few.

Even though these series do have/are getting anime to them, the fact that they aren't really given the spotlight here in America kinda sucks to be honest.

Like, I asked at a convention "Who here knows what Kochikame is?" No one raised their hand. Longest running manga series of all-time, and no one knew what it was.

Pretty sad, not gonna lie.

look up Glass Mask. . .it started publication in January 1976 and is also still publishing. It started publication a full eight months before Kochikame ... and I'm sure there is something even older than it out there. . .

edit: out of curiosity I looked into it and Golgo 13 is the longest running manga series. . .it started in November 1968 and is STILL being published today. . .that's almost eight years longer than Kochikame. . .which actually has the highest number of volumes published. . .but not the longest publication. . .just saying. . .-_-"
