Fruits Basket - Nobody should watch this.
Special A - Dunno.
Honey and Clover - Dunno.
Please Teacher! - Nah, it's good. I think it's actually for guys, anyway.
School Rumble - Same.
Dream Eater Merry - Dunno.
I'm dead. Don't come looking for me.

Fruits Basket and Special A are both shoujo, so their target audience are younger female, so you'll usually find things that normally appeal girls in that show which might be weird from a male perspective. Doesn't mean you shouldn't/can't watch it though. I've seen both, didn't really like Fruits Basket to be honest.

Honey and Clover is a josei, older female audience, but it's a great show for any audience, assuming your into the other genres/story.

School Rumble is simply a rom com, mostly comedy. The show itself targets males.

Yumekui Merry is a simple battle shounen that doesn't get anywhere because the anime is far to short.

the Dream Eater Merry manga(from which the anime was adapted from) was published in a seinen magazine, so its not aimed at girls.
the Please Teacher! & Shool rumble manga(from which the anime where adapted from), where both published in a shonen magazine, so its also not aimed at girls.

Special A- A very, VERY poor excuse for a shoujo because it was adapted by a studio that never does shoujo. I love Gonzo, but this series was awful. That being said, it's more along the shounen side than the shoujo side in many ways.

Fruits Basket- A shoujo series that has a large male fan base.

Honey and Clover- Intended for older girls. The only one on the list you might not enjoy.

Please Teacher! - No, it's not too girly because it's made for men. It's one of those series that objectifies women, like seinen/shounen romance anime tend to do.

School Rumble- A shounen romance. No, it's not girly.

Dream Eater Merry- It says shounen. No, it's not too girly.

I think you don't know what demographic tags are. Allow me to help you.

Shoujo- Intended for young girls, usually middle school/ high school age

Shounen- Intended for young boys, middle school/high school age

Josei- Intended for older girls, college age and older

Seinen- Intended for older boys, college age and older.

You shouldn't be too concerned about that. As long as it is good, it doesn't matter anymore.

There's no such thing as "too girly" for a guy to watch imo. Fruits Basket is alright.

Exactly this. Keep an open mind, and you'll get a lot more enjoyment out of things.

Beat me to it.
In terms of how much you'll enjoy the anime, I'd recommend Dream Eater Merry and Honey&Clover first.
Fruits Basket is average at best in terms of watching it as an anime, but it's a great series if you read the manga and have a lot more plot/character development.

Fruits Basket - reverse harem so primarily for girls
Special A - not at all I found this funny
Honey and Clover - it's a slice of life, don't let artwork fool you
Please Teacher! - not at all
School Rumble - another comedy series
Dream Eater Merry - the anime adaptation really sucks

Thank you

There's no such thing as "too girly" as long as you aren't a high/middle schooler or sexist that's obsessed with gender roles.

A man could watch and enjoy everyone of those anime you listed.

It does have a great plot... but honestly, I am getting to hate the anime more and more. The whole thing about the anime is that the main girl is a total Mary-Sue up until the last two episodes where she actually shows a personality.

I don't like the anime, but I highly enjoyed the manga. The anime only adapted the first 7 volumes, so after that there was a lot more interesting things that happened.

I also have several guy friends that really enjoyed the series, so I think if you're interested, go for it.

I watched Honey and Clover not knowing it was a josei anime, and Idk maybe because I'm a guy but I found it mostly boring, it was alright at some points, but still. Maybe because it was for girls I didn't find it as interesting.

well if u want to watch it because you liked plot or something then just watch it, I've seen yumekui merry and Honey and Clover was on TV so I watched most episodes of it as well, dont think its "girly" or soemthing (well even though H&C was bit .. ?weird? at some points for me but .. ) ... you shouldn't rly care for it anyways ..

I've got a bad habit of clicking spoilers too fast, then regret it ..
