Here are some examples:

Stealth(2005) borrowed stuff from Macross Plus.

The Matrix borrowed stuff from Megazone 23 (The virtual city part) and from Jojo's bizarre advanture (The final fight scene part, and Noriaki Kakyoin is totally Neo Anderson XD).

Tomb Raider(Yes, it's not a movie, but has movie adaptions) somehow has its origin from an old OVA called Explorer Woman Ray. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not.

Any others that I missed?

I would say Inception has its root from a very old anime OVA called Dream Hunter Rem(1985), which I dare to say it's the first entertaining media to implement the "dream-hack" concept. Still, it could just be a coincidence though.

I saw some stuff floating around about how Black Swan had some strikingly similar shots from Perfect Blue.
It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.

I actually watched both of these films back to back starting with Black Swan, and I'd have to say within the first 30 min of Perfect Blue I said, "This shit is just like Black Swan." or the other way around.

Yeah.

Comparison here: http://yerawizardharry.tumblr.com/post/17329666983

Anime is a popular thing to rip off of.

Also Lion King ripped off "Jungle Emperor Leo"

I highly doubt this, Yes Bebop has been out since 1998 but it didn't get any kind of notice in the US until 2001 when it premired on adult swim and Firefly came out in 2002.

I think it would be a little impossible for Weadon to watch enough episodes of Bebop then to draft a script, get it green lit, hold casting auditions and shoot the first episode in less then a year

Plus Firefly has way more in common with Outlaw Star then it does Bebop.

The only thing Lion king and Jungle Taitei have in common is they both have lions as characters, that about it. Their themes, story, and characterization have absolutely nothing in common.

Unless your one of the idiots bases this entire theory around Simba is similar to Kimba, but Simba is Swalili for "lion" and Kimba is just a random name that has no meaning.

In case you were thinking of my example, here comes IMDb for you (possible spoilers):

Darren Aronofsky owns the American filming rights to this movie, which he purchased for $59,000, just so he could film the now infamous "bath scene" with Jennifer Connelly in his own film Requiem for a Dream. The staged rape scene in Perfect Blue also inspired a scene toward the end of Aronofsky's film in which a group of perverted men circle around and cheer on a vulgar sexual event.

Here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0156887/trivia

And anyway, this thread is not specifically about copying, but about ideas that are based on previously aired anime. That makes a huge difference.

I can't think of many stand out similarities between DtB and Torchwood really. I didn't see the Miracle Day series though so I might be missing something more obvious.

GITS--> Matrix. Creators themselves have said it.
Paprika---> Inception. Not sure is Chris Nolan has said anything about it, but there's really no doubt.
Perfect blue--> Requiem for a dream, Black swan. Reason in page 1.

Don't know any others.

They're stating they've never heard about Battle Royale before. It's pure coincidence that they're created almost the exact setting again and out of nowhere. Yeah...

Lady Snowblood's 30 years older than Kill Bill so no. Kill Bill is so unsubtle about the influence that is even uses two songs from Snowblood.

I believe that was sarcasm. They're saying that, that is pretty much what this thread is full of.....Sort of. A lot of good answers in this thread, and a lot of right ones......On the other hand however there are a lot more people who are just answering with baseless assumptions.

The Matrix took ideas from various anime titles including Megazone 23 and Jojo bizarre but the directors are trying to deny it, claiming they only took stuff from GITS.
