28 Having Kijima have a malfunction in supernova was cheap. Meteor storm doesn't look good. That blue suit is terrible. And the windmill on his belt... And that beyblade finisher... Total crap. Failchibana aka Garren finally got rid of Kijima. He was an interesting villain. I think they'll eventually bring those people from nebula back to fight 4z. |

28 - Ryu the classy fellow outsmarts Kijima once again. - Zodiart abilities stick to the rules? - I liked the look Ryu gave Tomoko when she asked where he was going. - It looks to me they reused the W extreme headpiece for Storm. Not too keen about their colour choices. - Marco hit it on the head. Having the talented Zodiart malfunction was sorta cheap. - Awww, shucks. I liked Kijima as a baddie, too. - The episode made me a lot more interested in Tachibana. - They zapped the detective. Nope, that totally won't arouse any more suspicion about your school. - Thank goodness they chose not to have Ryu give himself up to the crew. |

29 What? Who are you to talk about kids being antisocial, Kengo? And Why are you talking as if you're an old man? Meteor's Wing Chun is always cool. But Ran had some pretty nice moves. So Ohsugi managed to find Rabbit hatch. He'll probably end being the club's advisor or having his mind wiped. I think fire works wonders agains a swarm. No need for net. |

30 So there is a reason for the switchers to be in Amanogawa. The Hole? Let's see what that's about. Ohsugi became the advisor. Great surprise. No freshmen in the club, because they can't have those guys as regulars in the show. Problems @ Ryusei's old school. Maybe they'll finally learn that he's Meteor. |

31 What? Previously on Kamen Rider Meteor? Yuki doing the whole sequence and saying the battle catchphrase was strange. Failchibana-san is just too lame. All his horoscope students don't respect him. Well, it'll probably win Aries a spot on Dark Nebula... Were those footsoldiers supposed to be weak enough so highschoolers could beat them? Ryusei saving Aries wasn't unexpected, but killing Gen-chan sure was. Meteor is awesome. And yet, it'll probably be for naught, since Aries will betray him. Ryusei is normally smart, but I guess it makes sense for him to be irrational when it comes to Jirou. And finally his identity was revealed. |

32 I really like how that girl responds to being called Ryusei no Kanojo. JK was pretty cool there. wtf was that kick? I know Ryusei is a strong fighter, but doing that untransformed was totally lame. I mean. he stole Lyu Kang's move... And he didn't do the nose move correctly. He should've touched his nose. But overall it was a good fight. Gen-chan also showed some good moves untransformed. Cosmic's chest an shoulders are terrible. The rest isn't bad though. But is it all right to have two blue riders? The sword is ok and using switch combos is really cool. I mean Ice missiles? He can even kill metroids. New finisher is also cool. I guess the bad guys want to know who the hell tachibana-san is. |

33 What? Foundation X? Didn't expect to see them again. Maybe they're the new shocker with all the tentacles ans stuff. LOL @ Ohsugi's Haiku. Miu shouldn't have cut her hair. Present state monita? Awesome engrish. Using fire between wooden houses... Not smart. Leo's actor looks like a cool villain. Leo's face looks terrible though. Did Tachibana just forgive Ryusei? And what's that about no letting the girl get close to Gen? Is he in love now? So we kinda know what is The Hole now. And it looks like things are going to get serious. Gen-chan is really popular with the crazy ladies. |

34 Not much to write. So Gamon is Saggitarius. I wonder why this constelation is always at the center of japanese media products. And Failchibana managed to survive. Let's see what his supernova will do besides seeing people. Maybe he'll discover that Ryusei is Meteor. 35 4z amp. core switch? That's new. Please, don't have anything to do with KR Core. Hayabusa rock version was cool. Capricorn looks cool. Nice to see the show develop JK a little. It was actually a nice character plot. It would be good if they focused a bit more on the Rider Club instead of using random students like Yukina. I mean, we had no more of Gen, Shun and Miu's love triangle... |

Episodes 27-35: I am absolutely loving where this show is going. These last few two-parters have been marvelous (stupid animations in the Kyoto arc notwithstanding) in terms of character development, plot advancement, and big dramatic moments. Honestly, I don't mind the look of either Meteor Storm or Cosmic States. I've seen uglier final forms, although they lack the sexiness of OOO's forms. Core Switch makes me think that they're gonna just do something involving Core Medals, not necessarily Kamen Rider Core. But I'm enjoying that Foundation X has found its way into this plot as well. Hooray for continuity! Oh, and Cosmic States' finisher was all the proof needed if anyone had doubts the guy who wrote this show also wrote Gurren Lagann. |

MEGAMAX OOO's comments were posted in OOO's thread. So, they were cosplaying as riders for the festival. And Gen-chan was Stronger. Now I know why they left skyrider, Super 1 and ZX out of the fight. nadesico is from Ryusei's school. Gen fighting with Nadesico in his arms was cool. KR Nadesico looks ok, but the SFX while she was fighting were terrible. Poor Gen-chan. He falls in love and the girl is space slime... And she dies. What was strange was that Miu was pretty much ok with it, even though she's supposed to like Gen. Super rocket was a lame movie power up. Gen and Shota meeting was funny. Shota was pretty cool before transforming. And LOL @ his reaction to uchuu kitaaaaa. Killing helicopters with a car, Bruce Willis? That's lame. Riders kill them with bikes. While riding them. Very nice to see W in action again. Comparing with other riders, OOO's combos are pretty strong. Having the old riders as medals and switches was lame. And LOL @ Amazon when he heard tomodachi. Super TaToBa is ugly. It feels like they left a lot out between the rider finishes and the rest of the battle in the ship. The last battle was too full of CGI for my taste. Meteor was pretty cool at the end. MEGAMAX was a good movie. The stories of the two riders were pretty much just spin-off material, but they were ok. The main plot putting Foundation X in the spotlight again was ok too, but not awesome. But if we ignore the seven riders switches and medals and Aqua's second appearance, there are no holes or lame stuff, which is good, specially because unlike the previous crossovers, this one tied the riders since the beginning and didn't need a lame excuse to put them together. Other than that, the fights were awesome and it was entertaining. |

36 As if Leo wasn't strong by himself, he now can transform into the defeated Horoscopes... But Meteor was awesome again and managed to do something. This guy deserved his own series. And a better super form. Jingu Kaizou's arc was pretty good. Lots of chara development. I still wish they focused more on the people from the rider club. It seems each will have two arcs in the whole series... And since they almost never get developed during a normal arc, there's not enough of the members IMO. Gamou was oddly mercyful with capricorn. I think they'll leave core switch for the end, since it seems powerful enough to break the series if Gen gets it before fighting Gamou. |

Episode 36: Nice development for JK during this two-parter. Throughout the entire series, he's easily been the least developed so it's nice to see him get some of the spotlight. I liked the rock session between JK and Gentaro. After finding out what Gen did, it made the scene all the more touching. So, the Core Switch has nothing to do with Core Medals. Or does it? *dun-dun-dun* Well, Leo's broken. The ability to switch between powers is a hell of an advantage, but Meteor did a good job taking him on. @m4rc0: I expect Meteor to get the same treatment Accel did. While it won't be a full series, I definitely anticipate a spin-off video special. |

That will depend on 4z's ending. W's ending left space for more adventures. I don't know if there'll still be switches after 4z ends. Also, the KR Club stuff makes it hard for him to show up alone, like Accel did. But I'd really like it. Meteor is a very cool rider, even if his super form is lame. |

Episode 37: Aquarius. You don't have to yell every line like you're having a mental breakdown. Cool off. Relaaaaaaaaax. It took me a moment to see the "star" Gentaro and Yuki saw. If it is the white outline resembling a kanji (which I presume is "star"), then that's insanely clever. Loved Ryusei's freak-out. Guess he's not good with enclosed spaces. |

38 Pretty meh episode. The final showdown was cool though. The problem with 4z is that they have a pretty good main cast, but they keep doing arcs with random people instead of using the rider club guys. I really didn't like JK, but his story was one of the best arcs. And what about all that stuff between Meteor and Nozama? Also, the love triangle between Miu, Gen and Shun? They aren't even using the members to do comedy as much as they did... |

39 JK breakdancing reminded me of Ryuta. LOL @ Gen and JK as normal students. And JK was very funny after the girls started to cheer him on. Shouldn't those hurt girls be moe instead of creepy? Well, I know there are the creepy ones, but they normally are those full of make up in harajuku. Man, Ryusei is cool. What's your speciality? Golf? Let's do that. This guy deserves his own movie. More than Ryu from W did. Not that Ryu isn't cool, but his coolness in relation to W's wasn't as big as Meteor's in relation to 4z's. Tomoko found her mentor. And I really think she should be the one interacting with Sayaka. |

40 Holy crosdressing switches, Batman! So the professor was Virgo. And I thought that was just a one time thing. I wonder what will happen to Tomoko and how they're going to discover she was abducted. Meteor was cool again, but I didn't like how Taurus brainwashed him. Ryusei should be expecting that. Sugiura's plot was nice. 5 horoscopes to go. Two that didn't show up yet. |

41 Poor Shun can't get a break. He was attacked in the shower... Ohsugi can't get a break either. Miu was pretty cool when Virgo got to her. Rider training was cool. And movie super form too. Another plot twist. I'm expecting lots of answers next ep. Nice use of the nuggets. And I guess they remembered Tomoko is Ryusei's heroine. He was pretty mad. Though making him go to the Dark Nebula so easily was lame. It would've been better if he was defeated first of was trying to protect something. |

Anyone know who directed this week's episode? I liked the techniques that were employed on it, I think it's the first time a Kamen Rider episode uses split screen like that, it almost felt like I was watching 24. And who wrote it too? That was a really tense episode, at least for a morning kids show. And some good news, Nao Nagasawa (Utsugi Haruka, also Hurricane Blue from Hurricanger/Gokaiger and Lily from W) is returning for the Fourze movie this summer. |

Episode 42: Wow, that's the first time I've seen a death scene use so many feathers since 555. Little underwhelmed Virgo/Tachibana/Emoto was killed so quickly, but I don't think his death will be a waste. Damn, Sagittarius is a badass. Definitely worthy to be a Kamen Rider final boss if you will. Movie: Well, this looks like a lot of fun. Next Episode: YES! I was hoping Yuuki would become an Apostle. And Gemini, too? Ohh, great choice. |

42 You've got it wrong, Gen. If it keeps spinning, you're still in a dream. Friendship is my friend? You can't get more shounen than that. I wonder what Emoto wanted to tell Kengo. A good episode. Emoto was a good character and his plot was interesting. His death didn't seem cheap either. The problem with Sagittarius being too strong is that they will have to give the heroes a plot power up, because he tends to get even stronger in the end. I fear they'll do it in a bad way. |

W, Fourze, and Movie War segments of MEGAMAX: Hurray, Shotaro and Phillip are back again! Still got that great team dynamic. Few problems with the Fourze segment. Why was Nadeshiko falling out of the sky? I mean, SOLU was already on Earth and she already had her disguise. So where did she fall from? And honestly, I didn't really buy Gentaro and Nadeshiko's romance. It was sad when she died, but they knew each other for, what, 2 days? It was hard to think that Gentaro could be completely head over heels in love with this girl. I liked Nadeshiko's first fight. The "tee-hees" and cutesy sound effects have me believing we have finally witnessed the first "Moé Rider". And you know, she was pretty damned cute so it's okay. Oh wait, she's a female Rider. Sorry, unless you're Natsumi you gots to die. :/ I loved the meeting between W and Fourze. Those three characters completely worked off of each other and I'd love to see them on screen more often. Oh yeah, OOO was there too. Boy, did he feel out of place in that sequence. Now you see...THIS is what a Movie War should be. GODDAMN. We get to see all these Riders in action, they all got solid amounts of screentime, and their theme songs played. Absolutely wonderful amounts of fanservice on display. I didn't even care when Aqua showed back up. I didn't care when the Riders were conveniently sealed in 3 Core Medals and 4 Astro Switches. Yeah, the CG was awful and distracting and yeah, Super TaToBa was underplayed. But I didn't care. THIS is a Kamen Rider team-up. |

Crani said: Gentaro was completely lovestruck by Nadesico and has far has we know it was his first time in love, so it's not implausible that he felt sad about her leaving. Well, I got how he could be sad, even heartbroken, over her "demise". It's a cruel move by Foundation X, it was a girl that I believe Gentaro was heavily crushing on, and her dying made him feel as though he failed as a Rider and as a friend. Then with her departure, yeah, it sucks to lose your first crush. I just thought the romance was developed too fast. As selfish as it sounds (since I vastly prefer Fourze over OOO), Fourze's segment probably needed to be longer than the 30 or so minutes it was given. That's mostly why I'm so interested in the director's cut. |

They can't help being fast, CC, it's a movie. It's not like they can take their time. 43 This episode was very good. Evil Yuki is very cool and they managed to create a good drama. That's what this show was missing, more development and drama for the main characters. Also, the club had a big role. Gemini is pretty cool. Strange to sse Ryusei loose in a fist fight. Don't like how he's in a loose streak lately. And well, after killing him once, the least you could do was take the explosion for Gen, Ryusei. His moment in the club room was funny. |

47 Awesome fight between Ryusei and Tatsugami. The transformed bit was good too. All the crying in the museum was a bit too much for my tastes, but well, it's a shounen-esque story and it needs tears. Sagita's supernova looks very cool. And looks more like a rider than 4z itself. He even killed Kengo with a Rider Kick. Kengo being a Presenter was a good plot twist. |

Episode 48: Well....that was melodramatic. Leave it to the head writer of Gurren Lagann to bring up galaxies, spirals, and ridiculous names for final finishers. Youth Mega Ultra Rocket Drill...uh...what was the rest? Guh, of course Kengo came back. Not only does that completely cheapen the final battle, the way he came back makes no sense considering Sagittarius couldn't transform into other Apostles. That was Leo's ability. RANDOM WIZARD CAMEO. Made even more obvious than Kengo and Yuuki's cameo last year! I couldn't buy Fourze and Meteor suddenly having the ability to beat Leo and Sagittarius (Supernova Sagittarius no less). It's like those two Apostles didn't even try in the final battle. I liked the letter scene a lot. Did a great job summing up the characters and how much they've grown, plus it featured some really really good acting. Sucks that Kengo's death makes that scene completely void of any meaning now. This was a disappointing finale. I'll post my final thoughts later when I can get them all sorted out. |

48 Friendship saves the universe. Did anyone think it would end otherwise? I knew they would bring Kengo back, so I didn't mind how cheap it was. They've done worse recently. Finally, a Rider Kick. I like how they brought back NAO, Ran and her friend. I wish they had shown the other ex-Zodiarts too. LOL @ Miu wanting Wizard's ring (or Wizard himself). Just JK and Tomoko to see Ryusei off? And what the hell was JK doing there in that case? It's like they couldn't think of somewhere to put him and just let him there... Those guys in white doing silly stuff were the ones always in gym clothes? What happened to Sono-chan and Crab? Gen was an awesome rider. He had the personality I expect from a hero. He wasn't an emo or a weakling. Nor he was a jerk. Sure, he was a bit dumb and naive but it's a show about friendship. After Decade, we got 3 good main characters in a row. 2nd rider was VERY cool. He starts as an anti-hero, but eventually becomes a friend. His fights were awesome and he was smart. He even got a commander rival. I didn't like Kengo at the beginning, but that was the idea. He grew a lot during the series. And he wasn't useless, like most 2nd guys of the main trio. Yuki was an awesome heroine. He wasn't one of the mopey ones, but she wasn't annoying like most heroines that don't mope around. She was so dorky that she became cute. I like what they did with the villains. They introduced them early, so we could relate to them. And they also used several different commanders during the show. That prevented the lucky clover syndrome in the final commanders, though in the last episode they were nerfed down so friendship could win. The zodiart's desing was pretty awesome. 2nd's was a bit strange. 4z's wasn't good. His belt and weapons looked like toys. It was how they could make 4z have tons of skills he wouldn't really use without making him a rider with two or 3 parts like the W and OOO. The rider club members were cool characters and some of them grew up a lot too. Unfortunately, they didn't have enough screentime. I mean, Yuki had 3 arcs, but she was the heroine. Tomoko had only one and Shun and Miu had one + the graduation. 2nd had more episodes, but he was a rider. It would've been better if they made more episodes focusing on the members of the club instead of random students. Sure, they would need the random students, but they could've made stories that made the club members relate to the randoms or stories that used their unique skills. And since it was set in a school, I wanted to see more teenage drama. The action was average. 4z's sloppy fighting and strange switches didn't really give us good fights. But 2nd's kung fu was totally awesome. 4z also managed to escape the mid-series blues. By presenting lots of club members, they managed to have the 1st 20 or something episodes as introduction. With the last + or - 5 being the finale and the super form episodes, they managed to have only + or - 18 episodes of random cases. With some of those being character episodes, there weren't normal episodes enough to give us the feeling that some episodes were there just to fill the 48 they had to do. The writers should learn from that and try to adapt this into the other series. Plot was average for a rider series. Some plot twists, some good arcs, but nothing that makes it superior to recent riders. 4z was fun. I guess that's what matters most. It was an action shounen anime in the form of a KR series. Let's just hope Wizard is good. |

Final Thoughts: Okay, the characters made this show. Putting a major emphasis on a group of leads instead of one or two characters instantly set this Rider series apart from every other installment. The show could have done more to give JK, Miu, Tomoko, and Shun more screen time but overall I found the treatment of the club very satisfactory. Gentaro carries this show very well. His brash attitude and obsession with friendship made him his own character that could easily be set apart from other Riders. He doesn't feel like a copy of a vastly superior character, he's his own unique being. Yuuki is one of the best female leads a Rider series has ever had. She's full of positive energy, although she occasionally skirts the fine line between endearing and annoying. Her two-parter when we find out how she truly ticks deep underneath added a whole layer to the character that made her so much more interesting than the one-note damsels in distress we've seen so often. Meteor came off as a rather uninteresting second Rider at times, for me. His story is far too similar to Accel's, but Ryu had charisma going for him and a far more believable character arc. Ryuusei doesn't, in fact he loses the one thing that made his character unique (his inner asides criticizing the club). The character who by far gets the most believable turn to befriending Gentaro and, ultimately, the KR Club is Kengo of course. He starts off as a cold character but becomes warm and friendly over a reasonable amount of time. His true identity came off as a tad bit of a stretch to me (especially since several important details seemed rather rushed) but overall I enjoyed his character and found him to be a good foil for Gen. I actually really enjoyed the sloppy fighting in this series. It gave a sense of realism to things. Gentaro is not an expert fighter, he's very head-first and needed someone like Kengo to tell him what switches would be most appropriate. If not, Gentaro would just experiment and try out any of the 40 Switches at his disposal. This was an interesting trial-and-error process that I liked out of the show and gave the gimmick some validity. I agree about the lack of a mid-series blues. The show still had a bit of trouble wrapping itself up in the last 10 episodes since suddenly Apostle after Apostle was thrown at us and numerous important plot details were explained briskly. But I think that's a problem with the show being too short, the opposite of shows like W or OOO. This show did not need to be 48 episodes, 50-52 would have been far more ideal. I say this because the show did a great job taking its time to build characters and needed those first 20 or so episodes of introduction. So in all honesty, despite my issues with Meteor and the finale, Fourze is the first Kamen Rider I've had an absolute blast watching since Den-O (W was fun, but it's on record many times in this club all of the big problems I had with that show). The characters were well-written and had great interaction, the action was fun, the slapstick was for once well-executed, and the story was easily digestible and used the KR tropes in such a fresh way that helps it stick out from several recent installments of the franchise. I eagerly anticipate all of the after-series content we'll be getting for Fourze over the next year (this year's Movie War, whatever cameos he makes in upcoming toku films, hopefully some Fourze Returns specials...). |

Movie Mikie Hara kicking ass right off the bat. Leo kicked much ass too. Black knight's suit is very cool. LOL @ Gen doing the friendship handshake with the mouse. Holy shit! Jasmine! And she's a dojikko? Nice bike action, Mikie! The car chase sequence was cool, but that 4z x knight fight was awesome. And I liked the way 4z used his switches in the fight. Ryusei fighting is always cool, but Mikie used a 1 inch punch on him. THe training sequence was funny. And Kengo surprised me. Ryusei owned the instructor. Everybody does a power walk. And look, it's the ship from the War movie. Isn't it strange? I don't think we had seen the form of Sagittarius in the series when the film was released... Oh, I guess that's the 1st time Ryu and Gen transformed together. Another awesome fight for Meteor and 4z. And another great use for the switches. And suddenly, Wiz shows up curving bullets and shit. So, Gen taught him what a KR was. That was nice, though only Ryusei had the right reaction. How could they just let him take care of the enemies if they didn't know if he was capable of doing it? And Wiz teaching his name to Gen was too much... Wiz also seemed a bit out of character. I'd forgotten that JK doesn't like when they use his real name. What? Sewers inside a spaceship? I know that's a traditional place to shoot toku, but... Even power dizer got some action. That plot twist was unexpected until Jasmine started to act strange. Blue Kyodain looks cool, but red is a bit strange. Couldn't they use their own fodder instead of dustars? It was nice how they made Shun fight like a american football player instead of a martial artist. So everybody became action heroes. And Jk reminded me of Ryuta. And LOL @ Ryusei being aware of the trope. LOL at K Q J Dizer. And @ Gen saying he doesn't work on logic. Friendship creates a new switch. I didn't remember many of the people Gen helped though. Fusion states looks cool and his mix of Gen and Ryu moves in his fighting style is awesome. The power mix is nice too. The space car fight was good too. Hah, he did a friendship handshake with a giant robo. Ryusei, the womanizer. It was a lot of fun. The action was great, the plot was ok and didn't have loose ends, Mikie Hara was awesome and there was enough comedy. |
