About Alexander the Great. I liked it but most folk don't . The very strange character designs put them off an does all the Pythagorean philosophy, mathematics, mysticism, and symbolism. If you have some footing in philosophy, mythology, and ancient history, you might enjoy it.

Can't say I recommend it.

Don't let its age put you off. It's really pretty interesting. Also interesting to seen the Disney influence on early anime.

There is a Valkyrie Profile manga.

Otherwise you see terms and general ideas all over the place (Oh my Goddess, History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, a whole lot of hentai etc all have stuff from Norse mythology) but most have only some few inspirations or are otherwise so different that it's really only cosmetical.

Not sure what 'Norse' is, but Seikon no Qwaser does follow something complicated.
"Giving one's name to someone about to die is meaningless." - Hiko Seijuurou
"There are no miracles in this world; there are only accidents, inevitabilities, and what you are going to do. That is it." - Himura Yuu
"A sword is a weapon. Swordsmanship is learning how to kill. No pretty words you say will change that." - Hiko Seijuurou

Norse mythology is from Scandinavian countries like Finland, Norway, Sweden and so on. You know... vikings, Thor, Odin and stuff.

Thanx for the explanation, but vikings were real, right? lol

Arion comes to mind, it has strong Greek influences in it.

There are three kinds of intelligence: one kind understands things for itself, the other appreciates what others can understand, the third understands neither for itself nor through others. This first kind is excellent, the second good, and the third kind useless.

--Face palm. . . . . yes . . . and they believed in Thor and Oden and other assorted gods.

@Lohengram--I'll bet my odds of finding that subbed in English and streaming are pretty slim.

This is more of an obligatory rec, where the mythological references exist, but aren't a driving force behind the plot - lots of things in LoGH are named after Norse Gods: Planet Odin, Thor Hammer. There are also frequent references to Valhalla.

--LoL I was just getting ready to go there and to the fact that, as my friend Anakin1981 reminded me, Reinhard von Lohengramm is clearly based on Alexander the Great. They don't say so but . . .

Oh, Gods, forgive me - Thermae Romae.
