| I'll second Basilisk. Afro Samurai - Short, violent, and flashy. Sword of the Stranger - Movie, some of the best action I've seen in an anime, also bloody. Ninja Scroll - Fun action movie, quite bloody. Baccano - Great anime, with great action. Bloody, with good characters and story. I reccomend watching the English dub of it since it's set in America, and I hear the dub is good. Giant Robo - This one is more cartoony like One Piece, it has great animation and action. Gundam The 08th MS Team - A shorter, more realistic version of Gundam, it as some pretty good action. Cowboy Bebop - I haven't seen much of it, but most consider it a classic. Watch the dub, even the creator of it thinks the English dub is better than the Japanese one. |
| seems they have already helped you but id like to throw a few out there. i just watch eden of the east and it was really neat, it consist of 11 episodes and 2 movies. has a good concept to it, light romance, action, and comedy. If you wanna try some good old school anime you can try *as already recommended* cowboy bebop or samurai champloo, they are both classic. they are dubbed very well and if thats not you thing then you can always find subs somewhere! |

| Rurouni Kenshin is a must watch if you're into action. |
| This place lacks of Hellsing Ultimate. Manly action. Maybe Ghost in the Shell. Try it with your brother, great stuff. |

| God i hated eden of the east, other than that alot of series have been said already. As for mindfucks, Steins; Gate is confusing at time although I wouldn't really call it a mindfuck. Also Kaiji and Liar Game although unfortounately there's only a manga and a live adaption of Liar game, though it's really great in my opinion. |
| Absolute musts for you guys, mostly seconding: -Cowboy Bebop -Ghost in the Shell -Higashi no Eden -Black Lagoon -Steins;Gate Great stories and characters, realistic concering their nature, absolute musts. |
